Just had an update to the MyPorsche app come through today, been keeping an eye on it to see how often updated. Don't have the car for a few more months but it did say more features for Taycan charging in the changelog, hopefully progress towards it becoming more useful (given what I've read on here hasn't been complimentary) ?

Sadly it offers little more than before other than profiles now appear (but can't be edited or added or deleted (!!)) this will be the charging feature addition - slowly catching up with Porsche Connect (which it is intended to replace).

My Porsche website is mobile friendly and significantly better in all respects IMHO. All features (and more) are available.

All of these widgets have the same core dependency however and that is connectivity to the car which if you've followed these forums can be a hit or a miss and certainly not dependable (in my experience).

Perhaps by the time you get your car it will have evolved into something more useful than it is but in the end you don't actually need it to enjoy or operate the car (luckily).

Ta, yeah will definitely use the website from comments seen here so thanks for the confirm. Its a shame on the connectivity though, overall my iPace (also not a renowned software shop......) had very good connectivity so had hoped Porsche would be better still (but way too many comments saying how intermittent it is).

I see you have an ID.3 - how is it for connectivity as you can be sure that being part of the VW family Porsche could well be sharing some comms components?

Due on Thursday via ONTO, apparently I should be able to use the VW app and services (but been warned that the onboarding is a nightmare....come to think of it.. that sounds familiar from on here ?). Will be interesting, especially as a friend has one on order.

Edit : Looking at the app store reviews for the "VW We Connect ID" (1.4 out of 5) then I'm not holding out much hope for my first experience of a Porsche/VAG app..

Yep, some minor things added, nice to see some progress. It's all we can hope for.

Received no update as yet - still on v1.21.44 build 62 - so your app simply updated itself (don't see a newer build bon the Apple App store either - am I missing something?

I saw the same as you. Run a new search for the My Porsche app in the App Store rather than looking at what updates are available for your existing apps. Doing it this way made it come up with the “Update” button.

Hmm - no I actually did a new search and it still leads me to the installed app with only option to open i.e. seeing no Update! Wonder if I need to logout first ... will try.

EDIT: weird still no sign of an available update - man, I must be slow this AM or something else going on!

Figured it out - its an App store bug!! No update available until you actually tap the My Porsche Text (despite it saying only OPEN beside this) and then the whole page refreshes with an UPDATE button option - jeez! Thx for the pointer though :)

Right. I lucked into doing that my first time. Ran a search and then opened up the app page and then saw “Update” instead of “Open”.

Well one big addition straight away is the the inclusion of Profiles (lists them and can activate but no ability to add a new Profile in app - still only in car) - prior to this update you could only view/edit Timers.

They have also added Speed and Location based alarms in the app - can create in app. The added trip data is actually nice to have in there too.

Don't recall seeing the Charging station select option being available before but there too on the main map page (memory might be wrong here?) - a nice quick-look icon to see max charging capacity in map view too.

Yes that’s nice to see, including ability to toggle preexisting profiles on or off. Unfortunately still no ability to edit or create new profiles though. However, the update notes tell me to continue to be excited for future features and updates - so excited I shall be.

The map now has a charger button which shows you EA chargers in the vicinity!

Tapping the station's card on the bottom of the screen opens up details including current availability, busy times, etc. Pretty cool!

Features I am hoping to see (they might be in there)

- Display charging rate/speed in the app
- Notify me in the app when I'm ready to continue my journey on road trips.

Yep indeed, mentioned above - what I would REALLY prefer is that they completely merge the Charge NA app into the MyPorsche app as I have pined for before :) - still dreaming.
