Dealer says it will will come with the "Porsche Mobile Charger Base" which is presumably something along the lines the original 3.6kW version.

I do not think the charge rate is the issue. The regulations require "chargers" and "smart cables" to apply a randomised delay of up to 10 mins to the start time and have a deafult off-peak schedule amongst other things. See attached guide issued by HM Gov

Depending on that, tell them to poke it, get a credit note and go source a non-Porsche branded EVSE - plenty out there. Home charging ecosystems really need a full single phase offering up to 7.4kW @ 32A to make overnight charging a non-issue. Remember, a 3.6kW EVSE will take twice as long as one with a 7.4kW supply.

Yes have ordered a Pod Point this afternoon and getting my sparky on the case this week. Will see what I can get out of Porsche

Plug and charge didn't work at ionity Cullompton, but did at Chippenham.

Sounds like there are many dependencies in the chain for P&C to work.

This is a bummer. I'm hoping this does not apply to France. It this is about start times then off peak electricity here in France varies by region and can be changed by the electricity supplier. I currently have off peak from 10:54 pm to 5:54 am.

The timing is controlled by the car and so you can define a daily timer (PCM or App) to charge within the window you specify and is independent of the EVSE (no programmatic control) - unless I'm missing some context?

Yes I realise this and I will be using this to try and get off peak electricity which is 8 hours here in France. So puzzled why Porsche are not supplying the PMCC in the UK anymore. I've sent this link to my Porsche Salesman to look at here in France

Yeah it's a weird one and lacks clarity.

On the positive side there are plenty of (cheaper) alternatives.

Some people have just taken delivery of their Taycans with the charger leads but not the charger itself... might indicated an updated charger (evse) is on the way?
In the UK the Government is trying to force randomised start delays of up to 10 minutes to stop surges on the grid as I guess most people who use a start timer rather than a finish timer will choose a rounded start time on the hour, half past etc. They also want the evse to default to off-peak hours. From a quick look a some of the evse equipment which now complies with the new regs, it seems the defaults can be overridden in their Apps.

Another example of the UK having no forward thinking and therefore this is a knee jerk reaction. Here in France we have had staggered off peak times for as long as I can remember with EDF in this house and we have owned it for 13 years. Our off peak is 21:54 to 5:54. Because we all have different times there is no surge demand simple.

Randomised start delays is as you say above, but even more critical ( and I think mentioned in the document) is when there has been a power outage. That could create a huge surge when power is restored. And perhaps very valid for this winter if there is jot enough power generated?

Even more surprising to me though, is the fact that this should have been known since 2021! I had never heard of this begore. And even mire surprising if Porsche has not informed customers when placing orders in 2021 and 2022! That I think is a big issue with Porsche dealers and Porsche UK.

Certainly staggered times for off peak, but you seem to enjoy a very long time at night. We only have off peak between 02.00 and 07.00 at night, plus 14.00 to 17.00 here.

Strange but you are getting 10 hours off peak we are getting only 8 hours.

BTW my delivery date has moved to 2 months earlier and still no options missing. Fingers crossed. It's now a Feb delivery forecast. Still time for it to all go wrong.
