Does anyone have experience with replacing brakes on a 2021 Taycan RWD without going to the Porsche dealer to get it done? The dealership is so expensive I am wondering if it can be done elsewhere for a much lower price??

Thanks,

It is a Porsche with Brembo brakes. An independent Porsche shop should be able to do it. The only tricky part is if you are changing the rear rotors there is an involved procedure setting the parking brake shoe clearance.

If you are just changing the pads it is straightforward. The calipers have to come off to swap out the pads. Likely the wear sensors will need replacement too. I only have 35K miles on my car. The maintenance schedule wants the brake pads replaced at 6 year intervals due to "corrosion" potentially caused by lack of use due to regenerative braking.

I thought the 6 year interval was for the discs?

What brakes do you have? If it's PSCBs...yeah that's gonna hurt.

What I always do is buy the pads/rotors from suncoast so the stealership can't jack up the price on me.
