I’m hoping for more touch screen controls. Too many physical controls now. Things that can move to touch screen:
  • Interior door handles
  • Mirror adjustment
  • Turn signals
  • Wipers
  • Horn
  • steering wheel
  • center console open
    • Includes a slider to open it varying amounts, from full close to full half-open.
I also think we should move even further away from one-pedal driving than we currently are. No more over-run recup. In fact, no floor controlled regen at all. Both pedals are accelerators. Double accelerators. Brakes moved to touch screen (obviously).

I’d also like to see a wider angle backup camera. I won’t be happy until I can see the front of the car from the rear camera.

And a revised charging interface to include more options like a true minimum charge that keeps the car locked and prevents it from turning on until reached or a preferred target optimized maximum departure time that’s just set to 8am and you can’t change it and nobody knows why, but if you turn it off, your car changes to 100%.

- do something about the atrocious design of the middel console opening. Cannot believe this wasn't addressed in gen 1.2
Yeah Porsches have always had petite ergonomics. It’s cute/frustrating.

They didn’t update it because the interior is essentially the same. It is interesting that they forewent a new interior, which is typically introduced on midlife cars now.

Since we just got a major refresh, anyone know when the next complete new generation will appear? A 2029?

Two door, must have shorter wheelbase.
I mean if they can build an electric 718….clearly they’ve got the tech to do a shorter battery for Taycan.

27/8

Next GEN’s are always just a couple of years after the midlife cars. And I wouldn’t say it’s a major refresh necessarily, considering it still has the same interior and overall original design.

Exterior will be tough. I'm slightly biased, but I really don't see how they can improve on the exterior styling - other than making it more like the original 'mission E'.
That’s because of the nature of human imagination. We can’t see into the future, so it’s hard to predict what the design will be. Of course when it arrives, everyone’s bursting with opinions ?‍♂

I'm hopeful. The Taycan GT has demonstrated at least 540 horsepower is available from a single motor. Let's see a 500+ horsepower RWD Cayman at 3,200# max. 200 miles of range would be sufficient.
Just 500 minimum on the rwd Taycan would make me sleep well at night. They might have to introduce an “S”, but so be it.

482 on the .2 version is pretty close to your desire.

My wish list:
(1) physical switches for climate controls, like in the new Cayenne, Panamera, and Macan Electric.
(2) a decent center-storage cover that is user-friendly.
(3) dual sun visors on each side in front like the Cayenne has.
(4) the option (in the US) of an all-metal roof on a CT4.
(5) the (former, US) option of manual charge-port covers.
(6) a heated-windshield option like the Cayenne and Macan have.
(7) an infrared (night-vision) camera that is mounted up at the top of the windshield with a wide-angle camera (it's currently mounted too low by the front bumper with a narrow-angle lens).
(8) have a dial like on the 2019 Macan/Panamera for zooming in and out on the map in the infotainment screen without having to touch the screen (superb feature); I think that the Macan Electric (and 2025 Cayenne/Panamera) have retained this center-console dial but only for audio volume (which is absurd because there's already volume control on the steering wheel).
(9) I also like the center-console trackpads on some cars (e.g., Mercedes GLE 450e) that allows total control of the infotainment screen without touching the screen.
(10) Two diamond buttons on the steering wheel to control two different things (a common complaint across Porsche vehicles, where owners almost universally would like two instead of just one)

First of all I wish for next Taycan to have more equipment that is standard in less than half price EVs, plus:
- more luxurious interior with nicer trims, better materials instead of hard plastics unacceptable in 100k+ Porsche
- more sound insulation, its not a 911 after all
- doors which stay open in any position
- softer seats
- B pillar 5cm backward for easier entry/exit
- panoramic roof with real cover not expensive opacity tricks
- regular brakes with any kind of wheels, PCSB and PCCB are money traps for EVs
- bigger PCM screen, phone key, faster app, better cameras
- door frames, frameless doors feel flimsy

I recently tested an Audi RS7 and it felt better screwed together and more expensive.

My wish list:
I like those. I will say though there is a control for volume on the steering wheel, it feels a little cheap. They need to design a high-quality rubberized bezel that tracks smoothly the way traditional knob does. Especially if they’re going to have that is the main and only way to control volume.
