I have a 2022 Taycan in Carmine Red and I would like to paint the air inlets and the headlight surrounds to match the car, like the 2025 Taycan. Does anyone have experience taking the front end apart to achieve this?

They aren't painted on the face lift. The headlight cases are quite different and the jowls still black.

I'd be careful as it could look odd.

Personally I don't see the appeal, but to each their own. I'd get a quote from Porsche how much to take the front apron off, paint the parts you want painted, then reinstall and recalibrate any sensors on it.

Front wheels, front arch-liners and headlights need to be removed. I think you'd then need to take the whole front bumper off to remove these without risking damage. I DIY'd the front Sports Design lip and took the front end off to do it but I can't remember how the "tears/air vents" are attached to the rear of it.

I don’t think this would positively impact the look of the car but if it was done some paint protection would be warranted.

They aren't?
I looked on the thread with the Shade Green one and there was black there.

Maybe it's different models?

Either way, the headlights are different on the mk1. I doubt it will look the same.

I did some bad Photoshopping for you to get an idea how it will look in a Red gen1 Taycan. I took the liberty to download your profile picture, and got another one from Google Images.

As this is a forum and since I'm a gen1 owner too, I feel the need to share my opinion. I would advice against changing the color. It is not ugly, but the black tears are what a gen1 makes a gen1, and is what made me love the Taycan.

I hope this Photoshop saves you a lot of regret and money :)

I wouldn’t do it myself but I do much prefer the shorter plastic insert to the long one I saw on a GTS.

I have a GTS and I want mine to be carbon fiber to match other carbon fiber parts on my car. Because the parts are plastic, Stek Dyno won't work. The only option is to get these parts in carbon... the outer air curtains are USD 700 and the inner ones are USD 700 as well.
