A word of caution on insurance replacement - more and more insurers are taking the position that if your glass is replaced by Porsche with OEM glass, they will only reimburse you what the expense would have been using non-OEM glass and labor. I'm not saying don't file the claim. Just be prepared to justify having Porsche do the work with genuine OEM glass and document the insurer's willingness in case things go sideways. That has to be under warranty. If it were a glass strike then your insurance would be the one to cover it. I decreased my comprehensive deductible which covers glass on my AARP/The Hartford policy just in case.
I hope I never get a stone chip on the roof but at least I'm cover at only $22/month for each of 3 vehicles to go from a $500 deductible to $150.
I did mainly to cover windshields which usually cost $500 to $600 on normal cars but not sure what the Taycan cost is for a windshield. I did contact Safelite to see if they replace the standard roof in a Taycan and they said they don't do glass roofs, sun/moon roofs on any car so I'm glad I got the extra coverage on comprehensive to cover a cracked roof. I'm praying I don't get unlucky...
