What OBD2 works best for a 4s. I did by one but it was wireless and didn’t give me any readings.

Take the battery % below 2% leave for 6.5 hours. Charge to above 95% leave for another 6.5 hours and check again. I did mine over last 2 days. When at 1% I left overnight and the battery had gone upto 5%. This is normal. All my modules rebalanced to within 0.017 before rebalancing it was 0.072.

Thanks, did you notice an increase in range afterwards?

Also, which app are people using with their OBD2's? I have a decent OBD2 reader which I used for my G81 M3, but I used BimmerCode with it and I'd doubt that will work on my Taycan!

Is that something we should just be doing regularly (without an ODB2 check) for general battery health? Once a year kind of thing?

The point of the rebalance is the following I do it every 5k miles:

1) Process allows the bad cells to come forward so you can claim warranty if one comes up bad
2) Process chemically rinses the batteries and gets them to the best healthy state
3) SoH increase is temporary, at least based on my rebalancing results.

Since I have a J1.2 the actual warranty checking won't work, as I understand it, because the ODB2 interface doesn't work. Points 2 and 3 seems like something we all should be doing.

FWIW, I tried something similar with my Tesla in the past and it didn't do anything :p

I am hoping someone will figure out how to get OBD data reading from J1.2. I do agree that points 2) and 3) are of benefit to all Taycan owners and it is following official Porche TSB.

Do you need an OBD reader to see if you have bad cells then? Or is it on the PCM?

CT14 garage has made a free program that is in the forum. You just need a cable and computer. Do a search for SOH and it will give you all information. This will tell you if your modules need to be rebalanced. It also gives you information on how to do this as well.

So search SOH on the forum and the thread should come up? Sorry I’m new to all this.

Ye I found it. Some very interesting reading and when I’m home from work in a few weeks I will be trying out for sure. And the other options look interesting as well for updates to the pcm and stuff.
