My PCM screen went blank this afternoon - just the Porsche logo was visible. Odd thing was I could still press the screen to change radio channel (even though I couldn't see which channel it was changing to). Had to resort to Hey Porsche commands.

When I got home, I tried to reboot the PCM using two fingers. This did nothing. Locking the car also did nothing. A call to the Porsche Centre resulted in a 'book it into service' response.

I locked the car again and retried it after 30 minutes. This reset it and all is now good (for the time being...)
A lot of weird things happening for as yet unexplained reasons. The recommended wait time now between resets, locking and trying again is 30 mins.

Issue could be a flakey LTE module (covered elsewhere on the forum) which means a replacement but with so many people apparently having the same issue I'd expect something more formal from Porsche to address.

Yes, makes no difference unfortunately.
If the issue has gone on for days then LTE replacement is likely or a complete reset (12v battery disconnect). If you dig deep in the forum I seem to remember that the LTE module cached details which could become corrupted and not easily cleared and hence a replacement was the prescribed way forward.

I'm only guessing (sorry).

Hi guys, this is an interesting thread but there is one thing I haven't seen any comments on, so I picked my new 4S up on Saturday and everything connected first time at the dealer. I get home approx 2 miles away and no Porsche Server connection, the rest of the weekend completely useless and as I used the Porsche charger the only way I could see the charging remotely was through the App. I then travel to work on Monday 25 miles away, perfect connection all day, get home last night no connection all night, back to work today perfect connection all day so far. Is it therefore possible to be related to location/specific network?

For remote connections you are dependent on the strength of your LTE (cell / data connection) connection as it needs to be in the 'good' range to be anyway reliable. If you see a horizontal arrow icon instead of LTE then you aren't online due to the connection / signal strength. Sometimes you'll see it when you power up but quickly it should connect and show LTE as below:

Porsche Taycan PCM connection to Porsche Server 1637680619164

Access to charging is also visible on My Porsche website (along with all the other car features and actual specification of your car). In any case this needs to be connected to the car and what you typically see either in the app or My Porsche is cached data held centrally by Porsche. It refreshes but sometimes can get out of sync (again dependent on the LTE module). When connected with either you should be seeing real time data and leaving the app running in the foreground it will refresh.

If you have the PMCC (Porsche Mobile Charger Connect) and you have connected it to your WiFi then you can logon to this directly with its own web page (PMC Connect Web) - userids / password in the white envelope attached to the PMCC - to monitor and configure charging parameters.

There could be other explanations but the above is the 'basic' piece of the puzzle to understand first. If you have more info to share that might help troubleshoot further.

PCM shows connection to Verizon with strong signal (Devices > ... > Data connection settings > Integrated SIM card status), but data connection does not actually work.
Have you tried accessing the Weather app or the News app from the PCM? Or streaming through the factory installed Apple Music app (not through CarPlay)? If none of those work then I agree your data connection is the problem and the module likely needs to be replaced. If they work (as mine did) then it’s more likely a Porsche server side issue. If the PCM data apps are working have you tried using the second key fob to attempt to force it to reconnect that way?

PCM issue - My HUD stopped working for no reason, and I found a solution on this forum. While my HUD started working again after disconnecting and reconnecting the 12V battery, my porsche connect app stopped communicating with the vehicle. This led me to log out/ log in, uninstall/reinstall the app, reset the PCM several times, log out of the car and try to log back in (unsuccessfully 10-20X). I then deleted my profile and tried to create a new profile (unsuccessfully 5x). Eventually, I gave up, locked the car, walked away for 10 minutes. I returned to the vehicle and set up a new profile - successfully. I then spent another 10 minutes re-adding all of my favourites (radio, sirius, etc). Shit show. Took me 1 1/2 hours for this nonsense.

Thanks for your note. The PCM data apps do not even appear on my home screen. I'm making an appointment to take it into the dealer as PCNA is, as usual, completely useless.

Yes check privacy and as a last resort before going to dealer have you:
- tried to log out of your profile (delete profile from PCM) and back in?
- if you don't have/find news or weather, been notified of any recent map update (check notification tab in PCM)?
- tried to reboot PCM via "engineering mode" (quick two finger tap on top right corner of central display)?

I had the same/similar issue - data transmission was ok (checked with one of above methods) and all services came back days after when Porsche finally fixed their servers

Porsche is not only risible at UX/UI dev (like for most car manufacturers, PCM is a joke when compared to Apple/Android best OS and apps experiences), but also did not even issue an email or a notification in their f-ugly connect web portal acknowledging their network was down...

Privacy mode disabled?

Just thought I‘d update this thread with my status. Had no connection with the Porsche servers since November 11th. Tried all the log out/in, privacy on/off, reboot etc. This Monday I emailed my local dealer and asked them if they had any suggestions. Got a call 5 minutes later - appreciate that. Tech said to try the log out/in and possibly delete profile in car. So tried the first bit again, and lo and behold - things gradually started to work again. After a few more rounds of stop/lock/open/start car - all functions are alive and well again.

Now this all had me a bit intrigued. Quite the coincidence that this happened minutes after contacting the dealer? In my line of work, there very seldom are such coincidences…. I would almost say that it appeared like the dealer was able to ”upgrade/patch” my online profile in such a way that communication with the car was restored. But who knows….

Anyone else in Europe/Nordics unable to contact their car right now? A week or two ago we had no contact for around a week, and now it's failing again.

Got an appointment on the 8th for lots of stuff wrong with this POS car

My CT4 stopped communicating with the servers about 4 or 5 days ago, shortly after a "Map" update was installed. I noticed the LTE icon disappeared from the right side of the screen and an icon with two arrows with a slash had appeared in its place.

Tried rebooting the pcm, didn't work.
Tried deleting my Porsche id, didn't work. In fact made it worse because i could not log back in and was forced to use guest mode.
Tried calling Porsche support, they didn't have any remedies that would work.
Tried deleting the app from my phone, didn't work.

Finally determined that the OTA/LTE sim unit was stuck and was pretty much out of luck. Decided to disconnect the 12v battery for about 7 minutes. Came back, reattached the negative battery lead, brought the car back online.

Success! LTE was now showing in the right hand side.

Tried entering my Porsche Login ID, but still would not take.

Noticed that the system was indicating that some updates were available, so I proceeded with the updates.

Once the updates finished, I was able to log my Porsche ID in and all is back to normal.
