PCM has gone crazy!

I’ve had my Taycan for a week and it was fine, but yesterday the app started telling me the car was unlocked and the windows were open when it wasn’t/they weren’t, it also started saying the car was in privacy mode when it wasn’t.

Today I got back into the car and the PCM just wouldn’t t load (I have plenty of battery - about 65%), it just keeps showing the Porsche logo but nothing else. I tried the two fingers in the too right hand corner and reset it but it made no difference. Then, halfway through a long journey it suddenly came back to life, but wouldn’t allow me to use my own profile (it shows my name but it’s greyed out and will only let me use it as a guest). This evenin the app is claiming it’s in privacy mode again.

Anyone had a similar experience? / any ideas to fix it?

not sure if this sounds likely, but this all started after charging with a 3-pin plug for the first time this weekend. Anyone heard of things going strange with the PCM after this sort of charge, or is that just a coincidence?

still have it. I've read somewhere on the forum that deinstalling the app (1st disconnect) and reinstalling it will solve the issue. it didn't.

look at car stuck in private mode after update (I don't know how to add a link ?)

Mine did that when new also. Now always put keys in front cup holder and not had an issue since…

Mine has been in privacy mode a couple of times in last month (it hasn’t although the app says it has). A bit annoying as it limits functionality but each time was sorted when I turned the car back on

This is probably the wrong place to write it, but my PCM screen on my new GTS has hung and just says Porsche and despite me doing that special two finger reset I can’t get it to work so it’s gonna have to go into the dealers despite being only three days old. are there any special solutions that might fix this?

One more thing to try that worked for someone else recently and has been discussed frequently on the forum is to lock your car with your key fob. Walk away for 30 minutes. Seems to reset everything.

Thanks for your reply Rick and I will try this. However, this happened on the way to Gatwick Airport where I had to park and run so not the best experience of a three day old Taycan (although it does drive sublimely!)
