There may have been similar posts, but I could not find the threads. I'm an avid reader of this forum and expecting the delivery of a 2022 4S. I joined the forum months before my final purchase decision to gather information on user experiences. The forum has been a great source of information; however, most of the posts regarding issues with the cars admittedly caused me to pause and have concerns regarding getting the car. There are few positive posts regarding user experiences. A few weeks ago, I saw a guy with a Taycan 4S in a parking lot and asked him about his experiences with the car. He raved about it and said it was phenomenal, and not once did he mention technical issues. He calmed my nerves and made me excited to get the car again. Everyone has their experiences but reading these posts can make a potential buyer or individual expecting a delivery extremely weary. At least, my expectations on the technical aspects of the car are extremely low at this point...

I definitely understand how you are feeling. My CT4 should be built in January and I occasionally get nervous wondering if the car will have many of the issues discussed here on the forums. I also realize there are many happy owners that never post about how much they love their Taycan. I’ve settled into a “wait and hope for the best” mentality. Porsche has to know that this vehicle is attracting new buyers to their brand (like me) so I’m sure they are hard at work trying to fix all these issues. Eventually they will get these systems worked out and I hope it’s sooner than later. The EV competition is really heating up and Porsche will run out of runway if they take too long correcting their software and hardware issues. With all that said, I’m super excited about my CT4 order still.

My 4CT is on its way and I can't wait for it to arrive. Keep in mind, people are much more likely to post about the negative than the positive. Will it have technical issues? Undoubtedly. Will it be a Porsche through and through with a fantastic driving experience? Also undoubtedly. Whether or not the technical issues will outweigh the overall experience is something only you will be able to answer. But based on my reading of the forum only one user had the Taycan, couldn't solve the technical issues and switched to a Mach-E instead. I think on balance everyone loves this car. Keep the faith!

My situation stated perfectly... "I’ve settled into a “wait and hope for the best” mentality."

I can understand the concerns you have.

If it helps, I have had my 4S since November 2020 with no serious issues. I have been blown away at what an accomplished car it is. So much so, I have ordered a Turbo S which I am hoping will be delivered within the next couple of weeks.

I know some people have had issues with their cars, but I suspect we hear more from owners that are suffering problems than those living without them. I have also taken comfort from the following thread:

https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/taycan-owners-how-happy-with-purchase.5843/

I’m sure you’ll love the car when you get it.

I used to post here a lot (see my reaction score!).

Back in the ol' days there was a significant issue (the 12V battery draining) and this forum was a terrific place to learn about it, learn what not to do, learn about the fix, commiserate, etc.

Unfortunately, this forum seems to be overtaken with discussions about some minor issues - that often time has nothing to do with driving the car. Or some person with a Tesla "just asking questions" about how the Taycan compares to the things they would miss about Tesla.

Now I just randomly check in and just drive more.

It is a fantastic car and my only regret is not buying two of them ;)

I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically concur with the guy in your parking lot encounter. I too have a 2021 Taycan 4S and it is, by a country mile, the best car I’ve ever driven and that includes my 1997 993 911S. The car is a masterwork of precision engineering with insane handling and driving dynamics. Yes, there are quirks and annoyances with the PCM and Porsche’s buggy software, but those annoyances pale with the shit-eating grin this car will plant on your face.

17 months of ownership of my MY2020 4S... Zero problems.. zero trips back to the dealer.. 14,000 miles. Absolutely love the car. Have more doubts about the Porsche brand than the Taycan itself as evidenced by their lack of interest in correcting the Connect app. It stinks but the car is magnificent.

Just curious, how did you obtain the software fixes if you never went to the dealer since taking delivery, did they not apply to the 2020 models?
Why fix it if it isn't broken? It seems to me since @terryS says zero problems, that means he doesn't require any fixes. He likes the car exactly as it functions today, therefore best case scenario nothing changes after fixes, so why mess with it. If it's a safety recall, Porsche should be communicating it as such.

Just got my MY21 back from dealer with new HV Heater. They took care of it within two weeks. After being without it for 2 weeks, picking it up was almost as exciting as the day I purchased it and brought it home. After driving a Macan loaner, it is a rocket sled.... New car, bugs to work out but I give it a 98%

I love my Taycan. 10/10. No complaints. No regrets.

The “how happy” thread @Norfolkporsche mentions is a good one. As that poll shows, most people will tell you they’re happy with the car.

Below is one I wrote about how I don’t dislike the software, which seems to be one of the main things people complain about. ?‍♂ And I continue to not find issues. Even the connect app works fine and consistently.

https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/help-i-accidentally-liked-the-pcm.5750/

Here’s another one with people sharing stories of receiving attention in their Taycan.

https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/share-your-stories-of-attention.5902/

The other things to separate out are dealer and EA complaints.

Hopefully you have good dealer in your area to work with. Mine’s been great. But I can see how a poor dealer could ruin the experience.

And people have mixed refults with EA, but some of us don’t use public charging so are unaffected.

2020 Turbo, 18 months, 11,000 miles and it has been 100% perfect. Not a glitch, rattle or hum. That sounds a bit like a rock group-the rattle and hum. But seriously it is simply the best car ever.IMHO.

You got me on that one.. I should have been more specific in saying that I I've never had to go to a dealer to fix a problem other than software updates.

Don’t panic. I am one of the many owners that haven’t had any issues. The car is just amazing. I am still innovating excuses to drive it somewhere to do something I totally didn’t need to do. I deliberately take a longer route to get to where I am going.

If stuff breaks, they’ll fix it eventually. I doubt that will happen to you much if at all. What I don’t doubt is that you’ll love the car. I don’t think I’ve seen any posts where someone has said they don’t like the car for the drive, looks, quality, etc. Only niggles and the odd issue that has caused them to get it serviced. Those issues happen with other cars too.
