On the porsche mobile charging connect device it goes red and says charging not possible implausible relay switching state.

i get this error even after a few factory resets, after switching from 3 phase (where it’s normally plugged into) to a normal 240v 3pin (UK) socket …
I can’t actually do what the instructions on the charger says about holding down the power button for 10seconds to reset the device, whenever I hold the red power touch button it doesn’t do a thing no matter how long I hold it down for (no reset)

Am I missing a trick on the PMCc device reset?
Has anyone had and fixed this issue?

"Implausible relay switching state". Whatever that means. Ugh.

Maybe there is an actual electrical issue. The only time I have had a problem was with a message re: the ground. (aka as "earth")..and upon checking there WAS a problem....

I think there probably was initially some electrical fault either with the car or house electricity, but I’ve since unplugged the charger and used a different socket and cable (3 phase industrial to normal 3pin 240v) - completely different socket in my house and tried in neighbours 3pin, the error on the PMCC persists immediately.

The issue seems to be the box can’t be reset of the “trip” or whatever it once had. Even after a factory reset.

There's a consensus in this forum that the Porsche chargers are less than good. Perhaps it's time to get another, non-Porsche, charger? I have 2 others (one was free compliments of Porsche and one was half price compliments of my electrical utility). Both work just fine.

OP is not North America - it's very likely a PMCC problem - but to date the abundance of problems have only been with the North American units - and that is not a factor in this particular case (Qatar being the world region)…YMMV

As I would interpret this error, the PMCC failed one of its safety self-checks. The relay that turns electricity to the car ON/OFF is either not working (possibly stuck ON or OFF), or at least not reporting its state correctly. WARNING! I think there is a chance that the power pins in the handle are actually live (if the relay is stuck ON). I know some EVSE's have dual serial relays for safety (they both have to be ON in order for the charging handle to be live), but I'm not sure what the non-NA spec PMCC uses.
