It's been a while since I looked at the web-based Porsche charge map – looks like its gotten some nice updates.

They should really have it on its own page with more obvious links to it. Bookmarked.

Edit: Seems like its from a Dutch startup called Chargetrip - here is their Porsche success story: https://chargetrip.com/success-stories/porsche.

It's interesting – as the car (PCM) and the app uses
here.com for routing, navigation, traffic and charge planning.

Chargetrip seems like its more a pre-sales tool – allowing potential Porsche customers plan routes and see what the charging/range situation is like.

Porsche Charger Maps…

I checked for various other countries and did not find any others where this works. Also an EU page but does not show available chargers.

See: https://www.destination-charging.eu/

Also available only for Spain and Portugal:

See: https://www.destination-charging.es/#mapa

The four different photos show the available chargers for the different types and are indicated by a red arrow I added to each photo.

I have just tried to plan a route I have done last week. I started from Calais, Ionity Coquelles, with 100% charge as the tool. Then a route all the way to Fredensborg Store Kro, close to Helsingoer. The fist leg from Calais into Belgium showed a trip of 310 km with 20% in the battery at arrival. My car will not do more than max 320 km on a 100% charge, so not sure how good that planner is. I would not trust it at all. ABRP with Tronity connection was much more accurate for me. Could I have a problem with consumption on my car???

I just checked the planning assumption that the car would use 17.6 kWh/100km in the tool and my actual consumption on that first leg was actually 24.7 kWh/100 km. The average speed in plan would be 86 km/h while I only achieved 72 due to some traffic I guess..

But still at 86 km/h for 310 km, a consumption of 17.6 kwh/100 km sounds extremely optimistic?

I agree. I also have the taycan turbo (21" summer, 20" winter). In 20k+ km I have only seen 17-19 kwh at average speeds between 45-55 km/h (looking at trips of 1h or more). At avg 86 km/h it's an electricity guzzler. Clearly it also depends on how that average is obtained, however your estimate seems extremely optimistic

The trip meter counts when you're stationary so average speed means nothing. I drove from west of Norway to the east (Bergen -> Oslo) without charging and had an average consumption of around 17kwh. "Average" speed was probably into the low 40s because we stopped to eat and relieve ourselves.

And that's crossing mountains.

EDIT: 20" Taycan Turbo Aero here though, not 21

EDIT 2: Oh yeah also reset the total for that trip. This does include like 300km of driving around after arrival as well, but you get my point.

Did you remember to select the appropiate model before planning ? I just tried it and it estimates 21,6 kwh/100km For my Turbo S which seems a little low as well.

trips of mine I was referring to did not include a stop, so my avg speed was meaningful (ie. representative).

I ignored that average speed factors in downtime, ugh. ok. So yes it has no meaning if one stops during the trip. Weird Porsche logic.

Does it mean if, say, I do two 30 mins driving and a 10 hour break in between it will be counted as a single trip and the average speed will include the 10 hour in the calculation? Or does it reset to a new trip before that?

Also is the consumption for the 4s+ comparable to that of turbo and turbo s?

Oh, well then there you go.

The trip meter resets after an hour or so of being stopped. It doesn't count when the car is off if I'm remembering correctly, but if your average speed is 100km/h and you spend a few minutes stationary with the car on then the delta between 100km and the 0km when stationary causes your average to drop quite a bit.

On my way to work the speed limit is 60 - 70km/h, but my average when arriving is always around like 20 - 30 because I usually sit in my car for a hot minute to find the right song for the drive.

Pretty sure the Turbo and Turbo S has a bit higher consumption, but it shouldn't be drastic unless punching it. There are too many factors that it's impossible find out unless driving them next to eachother. Wind, traffic, acceleration-pattern.

PS: Oh and my god the Turbo is fast. The 4S+ is quite a beast, but you DO feel the difference between the two. 3.6 vs 3 is noticeable. Also at speeds above 100km the kick after gearing into second gear is more violent. If one of you is rich, please buy me a Turbo. Red, white interior. Thanks. ?

:) Yes great punch on the two turbo and turbo s (I ended up choosing the first). Spirited drives in German autobahn and Italian alps are visceral fun at 30+ kwh. Thankfully electricity comes cheap.

ps. I paired it to a chalk 992 turbo s (I noticed some others here in the forum went that route too) - but talking violent... today's 992 tts is a pis*ed off go kart, I saw 2,3s on stock versions plus in the Alps it's on rails and 600 kg less ;)

Yes I set the Turbo and also asked for the summer option etc. but clima on. Far too optimistic and I believe this is Porsche trying a marketing tool rather than an actual trip planner. Probably set so that ghere is no need for heating or cooling, switch fanns off and open a window??

I believe the trip counter is reset after a two hour stop with the car switched off! And yes if you have the car switched on while charging, the average speed will drop, but if it is switched off, I do not think it will change the average speed!

Our gov (electro companies, but gov for letting them) is being dumb with selling electricity abroad and footing us with the bill. It was 4 NOK per kWh the other day. No fucking way I charge at home. Even Ionity is cheaper at 1.85 NOK. Thankfully it's cheap as hell at my dads job so the car gets charged there once or twice a week.
