Hey everyone.

I’ve recently acquired a brand new Turbo S and currently moulding it in my own peculiar way (satin black RS Spyders, 15mm spacers, removing and replacing the awful Bose audio system).

As part of these “upgrades” I’d like to investigate the electric sound differences between the GTS model and my own.

I believe the GTS has its own sound profile which was apparent when I test drove one before settling on my TS.

Doing the usual googling illicits little info other than plenty of sound amplifiers for sale with subtly different Porsche codes. Digging deeper on Porsche part sites muddies things somewhat as there doesn’t appear to be a difference when trying to order a GTS specific item.

Does anyone have deeper knowledge about how Porsche implement this sound difference?

Is it hardware dependant so that I can replace the internal amplifier and get the GTS sound?

Or is all the hardware the same and its software that may not be possible to reprogram?

Appreciate all and any discussion thanks guys

Appreciate the reply. If I was Porsche I’d absolutely implement this in software however the oddity is the multitude of differing part numbers that seem to be around.

I have the Porsche sound permanently switched off. I suggest living with a bit of electric motor hum and whine. Forget the awful artifice noises.

I suspect it's software only, and therefore configured via PIWIS.
A tech told me that the hardware controller is different. But hey, techs have been known to not always be correct.

In for updates....

But without sport sound, how will you know when your Taycan is making fake gear shifts? ;)

I fancy a bit of noise when driving, you fancied a shit green colour for your car.

Good job we can all make our own life choices isn’t it?

A Turbo S with GTS sound would be like a 4S with turbo wheels...... Oh wait!

The taycan has a 2-speed gearbox, its not making fake gear shifts, its actually shifting gears :)
I will admit the sound of the downshift is able to get a little smile on my face ... usually got a grumpy face while driving as traffic around here is horrible most of the time.

Yes, and I actually like to keep sport sound on. But the car ain't shifting like the sport sound is trying to make me believe. ;)

I understand trying to avoid a droning sensation and if the shift noises were blended rather than how sport sound does it, I'd probably be an even bigger fan of the piped motor muzak.
