If you want external sounds, then Panamera or 911 are the models you should purchase.

I tend to agree.
I do find it quite quaint how many old (like me) petrol heads are nostalgic for all the things piston engines are bad at, and the skills they needed to learn to mke the best of them (not like me).
I do have a noisy car, which is a nice noise, unlike most piston engines, with a 6 speed manual gearbox and 3 pedals to drive a bit if I feel nostalgic but the faux sound in the Taycan lasted less than a minute before never being used again.

having enjoyed my Mazda RX-8 for 13 years
I know exactly what you mean. 😉
Nothing beats a rotary engine at 9500rpm!
Still have it (2004 110.000km, original engine, runs great, AC Delco D585 coils, Racing Beat upgrades)

On topic: I have my Sport Sound on all of the time.
Some say it's fake but it's actually rpm-based but subtle enhanced.
I think it adds to the futuristic nature of my Taycan.
I love that sound, especially when the gearbox shifts up and down!
It's not just a sound, it's a composition, very well composed, just perfect.
It has multiple layers but some people just don't hear it.
It's like taste, you can't discuss it (but we do).

For maximum enjoyment of Electric Sport Sound for those with Bose- turn off AudioPilot as it filters out some of the layered notes especially on low speeds.

Will note that on the J1.2 on my 2025 Taycan 4 loaner, the Sport Sound is unfortunately much lower in volume and intensity.

@Dee Beautiful car- mine had those upgrades too. Rev8 exhaust and Revi intake really brought out the soundtrack and my favorite was going through a tunnel with windows down, wish I kept mine!

I love throwing on the Sport Sound during autocross... It confuses the heck out of Tesla owners and they wonder how I have '"engine noise".

I’ve had my turbo for a year now and it’s been on permanently.

Everyone comments on how great it sounds…I think it adds character which is what a lot of EVs lack.

The sport sound is only for what you hear inside the cabin.
Not true. Friends tell me that they can hear the car a block and a half way with the sports sound. Without it, I've snuck up on pedestrians walking on the street only a few feet away.

This is my everyday driver and I use it to pick up kids. Turn it on every time I pull up at school so the little guys don't run out in front of me backpacks waving. [Safety issue.]

And then sometimes, I turn it on when the Tween set is starting at the car and then they jump up and down in excitement. makes my day every single time.

I have it. I think it’s dumb but I bought it anyway. I turn it on once or twice a year….when I forget what it sounds like. It makes slightly more sense when I switch to sports+ mode though.

Hyundai was daring enough to lean all the way in on EV sounds. For this one, I give Porsche a participation award.

I should have skip it when I ordered the car. Same for the Porsche crest on the head rest. Useless to me.
The ‘Porsche’ crest on the headrest is the car equivalent to monogrammed shirts and pyjamas. Naff.
Who hasn’t realised it’s a Porsche before seeing the headrests or centre box?
ESS sounds like a tube train.

I do like the crest on the headrests myself. When I own a Turbo S or other variant that has the model name by default on the headrests I leave it there – but currently in a GTS that doesn't – so have the crest instead.

Yeah – for sure its something that can be skipped – but I always notice it. Probably the silly cosmetic option – I get the most enjoyment out of – is the illuminated carbon door sills! I park in a dark underground car park under my apartment and always enjoy them out of the corner of my eye when climbing in. @f1eng would hate the unnecessary use of cosmetic carbon fibre!

Nice tip!
Yes, I have Bose.

Yup!!
I also have the braided oil lines from RB (massive amount of work!).
And I upgraded the interior too, I also added a tablet.

Torque app with RacingMeter add-on

🥰

When I ordered the car in 2019 the standard logo was "Turbo S" which I didn't like but there was no option to change it.
Right before I had to close the final order a new option became available: the Porsche crest.
So I took that one.

For people who don't know how the speaker and boom box looks like:

This was when I took off the bumper to add fins to my diffusor.

Btw, you can enhance the sound inside the car by putting down the rear seats. 🤓

Get it - I think it adds something to the experience when in sport plus.

I especially like the blip on the downshift when dropping through about 35mph.
