I’m not looking for lounges. I travel throughout New England states and meet lots of families at charging stations with toddlers. Traveling is tough enough for a kid, having to wait for a charge makes them even more frustrated. I want EV stations with Shake Shacks and playgrounds.
Yes this here...makes alot of sense and makes me think that in certain areas of the US this would be a great entrepreneurial or development opportunity...
If executed well, this is actually a really clever idea. It gives dealerships a reason to continue to exist.

The problem is that, in the US, dealerships are seldom located in desirable locations. They are located alongside busy, multilane roads with zero crosswalks, in clusters of car dealerships with vast open parking lots, literally miles away from any sort of shops, parks, or other places I might want to spend time while my car charges. And while Porsche dealerships are quite nice as car dealerships go, I don't want to spend time in there either.

So we'd either need for dealerships to move to better locations, or we'd need very significant upgrades to the amenities they offer.
But that goes against the huge dealer mall model which lots of dealers in the US have used for the past 20 yrs. Big dealerships side by side on some side road off an interstate or otherwise anywhere but inside the city center or mall or any other transportation hub (hate that part when needing to drop off a vehicle for servicing..makes you just NEED a loaner or some sort of ride). As said nothing in the above model makes it attractive to stop for a 20-30 min quick charge at all in many locations. So something needs to change...
I take anything that gets more chargers into the world as long they actually work when I show up to use them…this vs. the current state of North America w/EA…

here's to actual progress - we'll see if it can happen.
Or allow the Tesla Superchargers or at least by a Tesla mini plug to allow you to plug in at the Tesla Destination Chargers....more than one way to expand the network besides physical build out which agree will take a bit of time....

Porsche needs something to spend the money they are going public for again.

Now's the time for the PR to go for a minority share public offering of the actual Porsche car business. The currently listed company is Porsche Holdings, which is a mix of different businesses as well as their holding in VW. The raised funds will for the majority be used for EV-related projects.
Excited to go through management discussions in the upcoming offering documents!

In shanghai there are several Porsche charging stations. A few have the fastest chargers. Most are 500v 120kw.

they are not free and sadly they charge by the visit not by consumption. Anyway, there are other chargers everywhere that you can pay by the kW.

Hopefully the network is expanded in China, specifically Shanghai!

Right now, there are only a few, but the 3rd party networks are quite convenient.

I don't think it will be Porsche per se. I would rather expect the whole Volkswagen group to create their own network for all of their EVs.

Yep but in my Dealer's case the units in question were purposefully installed for customer use. From Taycan launch they had their own ultra fast EVSEs within the servicing area.
Agreed, same at Swindon. They have two for the public and separate ones for the service area. I travelled up to Yorkshire last weekend and used Leeds Porsche chargers, available to the public
