I'm expecting a MY25 4S to arrive late August / early September. Do folks here have a recommended or good experience with various home chargers? E.g., ChargePoint, JuiceBox, just stick w/ Porsche's OEM one, etc.

PS - spec of the order is here.

I had the Porsche 19kw charger installed and am thrilled with it. Very convenient to have more juice for those days where you need to turn the car around somewhat quickly after a long first trip.

you do need the 19kw option on the car and will also need a 100A line installed at home, however.

Taycan owners in North America who use Porsche-branded EVSEs are 'livin' on the wild side'...

the Wall charger is great product and if you need/want 19.2 kW charging a great solution - there are only two "minor" problems with it - other than the two problem it is a legit choice
  1. compatibility with non-Porsche EV's is spotty
    1. if you don't own a non-Porsche EV then this is no issue
  2. if you ever have problems with it Porsche's ability to support their product is less than stellar if it's an EVSE
neither of the above two problems rise to the level of "issues" with the North American PMC+/PMCC and to date I've not heard of _ANY_ thermal/overheating issues with the PWCC

if the Porsche Wall Charger is working for you - my only statement is - rock on!!!

the Tesla Universal and Charge Point flex are my two preferred choices right now due to:
  • excellent support for NACS and J-1772 charging cables
    • built-in and trivial/clever on the Tesla - just pick which "cable end" you want when removing the cable form the holster - NACS native - built-in J-1772 "dongle" integrated into the holster - super clever once you see it.
    • easy/affordable DIY cable swap for the ChargePoint - you can order the charge point with NACS or J-1772 "ends" and later in life you can swap cables for an NACS end-point when you want to "make the jump"
  • both are less than $700
  • both have a stellar recommendation and lots of experience from owners on this forum
  • both are adjustable AMP's to work with _ANY_ breaker size
    • Tesla's max breaker size is 60 amps - 48 amp max charge rate
    • ChargePoint max breaker size is 70 amps - 50 amp max charge rate
  • both have WiFi for OTA updates, app support, and charging statistics
  • Tesla gets "the nod" from me because it supports powersharing up to 6 TUWC for split load charging of multiple EV's - I'm rocking 3 TUWC's right now sharing 100 amp breaker…works slick when I'm charging my Cayenne, my son's Model Y, and friend's and famiy hybrids/EV when they are visiting - yes 3 EV's at once, no waiting, and it "just works".

It's just a level 2 charger. Take any charger you want. Those chargers are nothing more than a glorified switch. You should focus on what technology you need now or in the future: interconnection with solar system or home battery, do you want grid power monitoring, those kind of things. You should start by looking what max power you have availale at home: now and what additional power you can get.

I'd add a potential problem for any Porsche-brand EVSE:
dubious/poor after-purchase customer support.
Porsche dealers are not good resources for operational/installation/problem solving questions for those EVSEs.
PCNA customer service is also not going to be helpful.

This is different than customer support from many EVSE suppliers.
I have Wallbox 40amp charger which I like. I have had a couple of occasions when I need to phone their customer service, which was excellent.
Also needed to use their 4-year warranty to replace a box which was damaged. That worked well, too.

If you have the 19.2kw, I advise Chargepoint flex.

If you have the 19.2kw, I advise Chargepoint flex.
chargepoint Flex can not do 80 amp charging - only 50 amp charging on a 70 amp breaker - Porsche Wall Charger is only 100/80 amp North American EVSE right now to my knowledge - Enphase/Clippercreek no longer list their 100/80 amp EVSE for sale which is a great loss.

Charge point flex is a good choice if you don't want or can handle a 100 amp circuit.

the next best choice in my opinion is the 80/64 amp Enphase/Clipper creek EVSE https://enphase.com/store/ev-charge...7V*MTcyMjAxNDQ4NC4xLjAuMTcyMjAxNDQ4NC4wLjAuMA..

https://enphase.com/store/ev-charge...7V*MTcyMjAxNDQ4NC4xLjAuMTcyMjAxNDQ4NC4wLjAuMA..

it's also a good choice because you can have "share2" feature where enPhase EVSE's can share a single circuit split between 2 enphase eVSE's
