Anyone in London with 4S and tune?

625->800 is pretty significant. So again it’s more for base car and 4S……
Not so much for the turbo to get significant results
For the turbo gen 1 …it’s not like you’re going from 2.9 to 2.4 0-60 and the quarter mile doesn’t seem like it’s that much of an increase. You’re not running low tens. Gains are more in the middle from 40+ it seems.625->800 is pretty significant.
On any high performance petrol car you would be hailed as a cross between an automotive god and baby jesus if you could do a such power increase safely with just a software modification
On the 4S you get bigger gains. On the J1.1 RWD you don't though.
The largest gainers are the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo and the GTS (because the GTS is just a detuned Turbo).
J1.1 Turbo: 10.6 1/4 mile, 1 sec 60-130mph improvement (on a roll)For the turbo gen 1 …it’s not like you’re going from 2.9 to 2.4 0-60 and the quarter mile doesn’t seem like it’s that much of an increase. You’re not running low tens. Gains are more in the middle from 40+ it seems.
Oh if you're doing only drag racing with your car absolutely. For the turbo gen 1 …it’s not like you’re going from 2.9 to 2.4 0-60 and the quarter mile doesn’t seem like it’s that much of an increase. You’re not running low tens. Gains are more in the middle from 40+ it seems.
for the RWD, do you get that increase in power for more than 2-3 seconds?Oh if you're doing only drag racing with your car absolutely.
However, you probably missed the fact that it does nowhere near 3 seconds if you don't use launch control - it's closer to 4. Nor does it run anywhere near that quarter mile without using launch control - it's more like 12 seconds.
So for a 100-200 km/h measurement you're going from 8s to 6.5s, which is an almost 20% improvement in acceleration, and because of how the power is delivered (drop at top end) the performance from e.g. 80-120km/h improves much more than that, there's a difference of over 25%.
This is what matters in day to day usage, not theoretical numbers that you would achieve from a standstill with launch control only.
What use are the launch control figures for you if you need to merge onto the highway? Or accelerate on it?
It's not like you're gonna stop on the ramp, then engage launch control to have the better acceleration, are you?
By that logic the upgrade on a J1.1 RWD PB+ would be completely pointless since you already have the max power in launch control. But in reality it goes from 380 PS to 480 PS outside of launch (which is the 99.9% usage) - an increase of 26% in power. Plenty of people bought it for their RWD and they are happy with it, because the difference in acceleration is very significant.
Essentially the main gain for J1.1 Turbo is you get launch control power/torque available any time you mash the pedal (instead of only from standstill with LC activated), plus a little more (that's the "on paper" gain). On paper the gain for my J1 turbo s is not that big but for daily usage the improvement is very significant. Happy mapev customer![]()
You get the increase in power 100% of the time.for the RWD, do you get that increase in power for more than 2-3 seconds?
I can't tell you exact numbers, because I have not tested that specific range myself. But I would expect a roughly 25% reduction in the time.Do you know much the boost will cut the 80-120 km/h time on a J1.1 RWD PB+?
I remember reading somewhere that the OEM launch mode only gets 2-3 seconds of additional power before reverting back to the non power level. Does your tune remove this restriction? You get the increase in power 100% of the time.
The few seconds increase concerns the torque, but by the time the time runs out you'll already be higher in the torque curve where the torque bump isn't that relevant anymore.

Yep, the S now is a 'bit' faster as a daily.Essentially the main gain for J1.1 Turbo is you get launch control power/torque available any time you mash the pedal (instead of only from standstill with LC activated), plus a little more (that's the "on paper" gain).
