So, cleaned car today and noticed my front left has a bulge in the tyre wall.

I’ve not hit any noticeable potholes that I can think off recently but did go through a massive pothole 6 weeks ago, so bad I stopped and took pictures…

Can a bulge take months to appear? Is it worth trying to contact the council for a pothole that’s now filled in and several months later..

Annoying as a brand new tyre 8 weeks ago…

This is Britain right now, driving on the road is treacherous. I’m so glad I don’t right bikes anymore

I gave up on low profile tires because I was always getting this type of issue....it became too much

The positive with it being a new tyre is that at least you will only have to replace that one and not both fronts due to the tread difference. PITA though
Not feeling a fuzzy warm glow tbh… 😉

I had the same problem, two days after replacing a tyre due to an inside split caused by another pothole! Tyres (21’s in my case) are more susceptible for sure but it’s just bad luck if you don’t see it in time. I now use waze for navigation that calls out any reported potholes. That and tyre insurance!

Many years ago I hit a pothole that was so bad it buckled my alloy and I had to get a replacement. My Council covered the cost by sending me a cheque. It is worth a try although things may have changed in more recent years with the deterioration of our roads.

Councils will almost certainly bat it back and tell you to sue them.

Complete joke. Roads are starting to be very third world.

I need to get all 4 of my wheels looked at/straightened. Have replaced 4 tyres because of sidewall bulges (worse than the pictures) and two more on my OH's Volvo (plus straightening a wheel).

On other cars have had to replace 2 wheels and a further three tyres.

The next time. It happens I'm digging in and taking the feckers to court.

Yes, I have started using waze in the background. Tyre insurance is not a bad shout. Do you have an aftermarket product or Porsche? Never really thought about tyre insurance outside of the original dealer offerings. Presume aftermarket policies are available.

I use TotalLossGap for tyre insurance. I’d never had it before reading about it on these forums and being recommended to them. It cost me about £350 for 3 years and I’ve already claimed 2 tyres and one diamond cut wheel refurb so it’s easily paid for itself

I suspect the price of policies will rise imminently.

No such thing as a poor insurance company. A bit like the house in a Casino.
