I've tried different screen protectors (PPF, Nano, rigid or not, ...) and none of them are satisfactory. I think the problem is that they're all made of plastic.

In indirect light, everything is fine. But when the sun shines directly on it, the diffraction in the plastic makes the screen background turn from black to orange. No more shine, and the contrasts decrease significantly.

No manufacturer offers a true laminated tempered glass version ?

I'm using the brotect mat screen protector. It's still plastic and decreases the contrast a bit, but I can see the screens absolutely fine in all conditions

I suggest having a professional install them so everything aligns.
Small pieces like the power button and park button are not easy to center.

I was looking for just the lower climate control screen protector to avoid fingerprints, but have not found anything that is satisfactory. The plastic ones do not align well and look like the factory film has been left on.
Has anyone found a tempered glass protector like you have for a phone?

Download and Zoom in on mine. Look at the edges.

What is the benefit of tempered glass protector for this application?

The problem is not in the corners, but across the entire surface (loss of contrast and brightness).

I was thinking of glass because it has a higher constringence (Abbe number), meaning it disperses light less into colors (chromatic aberration). This provides sharper vision and less distortion.

Hey, I'm trying to make this decision as well, If you use XPEL, we have both matt and glossy for the interior I believe as choices. Do you or other have advise on:

1) Do it? Don't do it? Is the aesthetic better/worse?
2) Matt vs Glossy?
3) Are their decisions involved in making a choice here that might not be obvious, e.g. I have truffle brown interior and that soo clashes with glossy, or if you have a passenger side display be careful of x,y,z?

Thanks.

I just got my 2025 Taycan 4S and as part of the deal they gave me the official Porsche screen protectors and let me tell you…they are absolute shit.

Extremely thin and they came with creases in it. Corners don‘t attach well, very low quality over all.

probably costs them less than 1$ to produce and they sell them for CHF113 here in Switzerland

The Xpel is just the precut pattern they provide in the software. You can use any PPF brand you like.

I used Stek for mine because its already ceramic coated to give it extras gloss, then I applied Armour Detail Supply Amplify (Si02) to give it more gloss, but less dust and fingerprints

I kept the factory wrapping on the interior until I got the interior PPFed. You will 100% mar the dash black plastic if its not PPFed. SO it looks better, but also looks better when its not marred.

I'm very picky so I don't like Matt because I would have to do everything in Matt, including the center of the HVAC vents, Hazard button, the small slit under the instrument cluster, side caps to keep it consistent.
For Truffle, if you are OCD, just matt every single gloss black bit, if you care that much. Personally like everyting glossy

Here is how mine looks. I did everything but the instrument cluster because I never touch it and it wont scratch easily when wiping it

I use ScreenProTech and I really like it. Easy to install, very little glare and hides finger prints.

I have not done it this way but perhaps if I were doing it again, I would only do anti glare on the lower center screen. Might look wrong but that mostly is where my fingerprints keep ugly-piling-up.

I have the anti-glare, which is slightly more expensive, but it works well I think,
