I’ve no idea how this button came off!
I’m tempted to superglue it back on, or should I book it in ?

book it in, just incase you superglue it to the side of the seat, it needs to move!

It is about $300 to get a new side unit, 5 minutes to swap. Careful on eBay as seats have different options.

It is a stupid design that is near impossible to take apart and put back together even if you made a new insert for the button

Superglue.
They’ll charge you a fortune for labour and tell you it’s wear and tear so not under warranty.

And I imagine if they’re sensible, they’ll superglue it back on, or b) pull your pants down and want to replace the whole seat.

If the car is still in warranty don't mess around (or let them mess you) - get Porsche to sort it.

I extended the warranty for another 3 years from April, I will see what they say at the end of this month when its due in for the brake recall. Cheers

DON'T GLUE IT! - for the different functions the button needs to move around or 'float' over the pins, thus the shaped holes in the back. For example the fore/aft function will use the middle pin and the button needs to slide over the other two without moving them.

It looks to me like it should simply snap back on - the white ends look a bit bulbous so should engage in the button to hold it. What happens when you offer it up? - does it slip easily on/off the pins? If it seems like it doesn't want to go on I'd give it a firm tap with something soft (fist?).

Ive tried this several times, it doesn't firmly engage. I think the square white plastic bit in the middle was part of a wider sliding component that is behind the middle bulbous bit that has snapped off.
The inner part of the button actually comes out and the cover fits over the top of it.

Use your vin/ or call your dealer to confirm part.

It is easy to swap, requires you to take the seat out but then is just a few screws.
For a 6 figure car it is a shitty and cheap design. My kids broke it at least once, it is possible the first time was Porsche’s fault. But I have replaced this module 2 times in 2 years.

Now everyone in the family uses very gentle hands adjusting the seat.

I have same issue. I bought the correct switch unit (971-959-747-BC-1E0) from Audi ($200 cheaper, but same part) vs Porsche. #5 in the 1st picture. Appears there will be a hex screw that can't access. PERHAPS if instead take off the trim in (Part 8 in second photo). The trim I noticed has an accessible screw in the front and looking at 2nd photo below, are those just tabs (can pry) or two additional screws that can't be accessed.

Is anyone familiar with how to replace this? Sam seems to indicate the seat needs to be removed? The frame? The Cushion? Or perhaps not? Curious as to the best route to take.

The problem is there are 2 screws at bottom, so I had to remove the seat 4 star screws. To access those. I can probably take a picture of a part tonight

This is from a salvage one I bought off eBay before I realized the part number didn’t include the massage button. You can see 2 holes, one on either side, I could reach the front one without taking seat out, I couldn’t get the back one. … it took less than 5 minutes to get the seat out and swap once I gave up trying to get a weird angle.. move seat back, pop off plastic covers on either rail.. undo bolts, move seat forward…repeat.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post these. I will look more closely once my part arrives in a week.

I was hoping just remove marked red easy one below and pops off and then can remove the buttons component. But appears a more difficult screw in the rear if I understand. Not sure I understand the part about removing the seat and what exactly, but I'll look more closely and cross that path once I get there. I'll try and take some photos/video of too then. Thanks again.
