Thank you so much for taking the time to post these. I will look more closely once my part arrives in a week.

I was hoping just remove marked red easy one below and pops off and then can remove the buttons component. But appears a more difficult screw in the rear if I understand. Not sure I understand the part about removing the seat and what exactly, but I'll look more closely and cross that path once I get there. I'll try and take some photos/video of too then. Thanks again.

I was hoping the same, I didn’t have a tool that could work at that angle, so just took seat out which made it trivial.

Thanks again! Provided needed inspiration. Here’s what did it for me (tool cheap on Amazon).

£88!!! - for a tiny plastic piece? - wow. Still, if it fixes the problem it's cheaper than a trip to the OPC :CWL:.
Lets hope so, I will wait until next week and ask a car body repair guy I know if its suitable, I think I need a special pair of pincers with special ends to remove the stub of the old white bit from the switch without breaking the lugs that hold it in place! Nothings ever straightforward :headbang:

It is pressed together, in a way I couldn’t figure out how to take apart fully. Good luck.

Interesting to see that you were able to get the switch unit out without removing the seat!

Was it easy to get the eBay part into the switch unit?

When I first realized I needed to possibly remove the seat I just made a 3d printed part to solve the issue without removing anything... it's a press-fit onto the center pin. Just installed it today, works perfectly. Will be curious how it holds up and if it puts undue pressure on the post and breaks things further...

I added some pics of the 3D model. The button cap (cosmetic piece) snaps into the post I printed, and then the post goes onto the center switch post, with a press-fit design with those ribs. It grips well enough to hold it on but not so strong it will break the post if it gets hit hard (it would just pop off instead of breaking again like the original part).

I'd be happy to make another one, kinda why I posted it. I can only print with PLA where I do it, it should ideally be printed in ASA or nylon but I haven't tried to set that up yet. My plan was that if there was real interest from others I'd set that up.

If you want I could set that up but ship it to me first to verify it works and then forward it to you...

I replaced my entire seat when the button broke. This is the Porsche Recommended Service; cost $17,000 at the dealer.
