Mines been in to Porsche for a couple of minor fixes, updates etc but they’ve said the cooling fans have seized.
I’ve not heard of this issue before, has anyone else?

You mean the radiator fans? If so this is common and normally associated with small stones getting caught between the fan blades. Just needs a clear out normally as opposed to an actual fan motor issue.

Im not sure, they just said they’re replacing both cooling fans.
Apparently it’s still ok to drive which concerns me if there’s no cooling

Yes, my driver's side fan was seized. It wasn't debris. It was solidly locked in place as tested with a long screwdriver with the car off and cool. Nevertheless, by "complaining of noise" I got my dealer to perform the TSB for "droning/humming from vehicle front end." They replaced both fans and shrouds. Ask to have the TSB done. See here.

My $350 desktop will warn me if one of the fans isn't turning. But my Porsche has no idea that's happening, at least it doesn't warn me. I recommended in my earlier post (see thread here) to occasionally check both sides for free spinning with the car off and cool. The other symptom will be no cooling fan whoosh noise when DC charging in summer. The battery will get hot, and eventually the DC rate will throttle.

I had mine replaced last year under warranty. They hadn’t seized, but I asked the OPC to check them after reading reports of seized fans on here.

My fans are being replaced at the moment after complaining that they were loud while initial charging.

Ba… ba… ba…. ba ba ba ba ba…

Kinda sounded like dirt in the bearing. Loud at first plug in, and then later on as if the fan was hitting something every few rotations.

The car is on the tow truck now… hopefully all fixed now.

My both cooling fans on my 2021 4S were changed a week ago into the newer models under extended warranty and they should not cause the same problems anymore. Range went up 5-7 % immediately and vampire drain stopped totally. On worst days I had 4 % of battery drain during the night if not plugged to charger.

I am now again on 400km range here in Helsinki area at about 17C. The weather gets warmer during this week so the range will climb up probably to 420 km (261 miles) or so which isn't much less than it was in 2021 when my car was new. I have 89 000 km on my tacho now.

Btw I had a 2020 Turbo as a loaner for the day and it showed 432 km of range, which is really good for a 5 year old car with 86 000 km on it.

I think taking the extended warranty is the only right solution if you keep your car a longer time. And you dont have to fight with Porsche about goodwill 🤣.
