I don't see a point in trying to argue about release times and Facelifts. We gave you our opinion, you have yours. So be it.
For sure, I‘ve said that several times in this thread. Happy to have some different opinions, and I’ve freely admitted I might be wrong, I’m not upset about it at all. Let’s see what happens over the coming months.

I don't think there's a point in discussing this further. If you believe that Porsche will change its MY naming cycle together with a mid MY24 Facelift... Good luck.
When I bought my 991.1 in 2012, it was a MY12. In that same year the 997 was also a MY12. I was shocked to find that the same MY can have two different body styles…no other manufacturers do that.

Actually Ram does that has has been producing the "classic" version of the 1500 alongside the "new: version since 2019.

Ok, I stand corrected but that's because I have never purchased an American vehicle before. I may get a Corvette someday, but that's the only model that appeals to me.

Tesla does it all the time. At one point Elon was proud they were changing cars in production every 2 weeks. I hope Porsche doesn’t go that far, it created a service training nightmare.

Hi All,

With all the production delays (6-12 mos) for allocation orders, should I just wait for the 2024 Taycan? Debating if I should wait. Would love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks!
Today, i’d buy used Taycan instead to wait a year (or more) for a new one.
Life’s too short…and every year goes to the history faster….and every year one can ask the same question….waiting for another MY or not?

Probably nothing. Refresh cycles are big, long-term business events, planned long in advance and which usually do not incur last-minute deviations; it involves the work of thousands, across everyone from assembly line (think training) to the marketing office.

The delays caused by Cariad/the software, along with the delay of the Macan EV have probably disrupted a lot of other projects inside VAG/Porsche. Furthermore, numerous issues plagued the Taycan production, and deliveries are far behind. Both of these means that resources otherwise allocated to the refresh would have been recalled and reassigned to the real fires - getting the Macan out, finding and fixing the many issues the Taycan experienced and so on. A 'facelift' isn't just a designer drawing a new headlight cover and faxing it to the supplier.

That’s info from March, and normal comms in order to not dent sales. I might be wrong, but multiple sources are expecting some changes. You seem very defensive. Let’s leave it there and check back in later on in the year and see who is right.
I spoke to my sales guy yesterday at a company Dealership in Melbourne (AUS) about my GTS sedan allocation. I am 1st of the ranks and confirmed it will now be a MY24 car. He doesn't have confirmation as to when my allocation will be, they get that info in early May, but as I will be in Germany (and going to the Porsche museum/factory tour) I will be locking in my spec this week.
Ohh, and GTS has a 4% price rise and 0 changes.

If you factor-in inflation, that's a price decrease no? ;)
Considering here in AUS everything has gone up by 10-20% in the last year - I guess so.
Still rather no increase, as it's about $280,000 already! And about $80,000 is tax alone ?

I hear you. The price of my Taycan went up over $10K USD from when I put my deposit down to when I got an allocation (part of it was losing EV incentives) and my trade-in lost ~$15K in value (20 months of waiting). Today it would be another $7,700 with MY24 prices - all before taxes. Then there are higher interest rates too if you plan to loan/lease. Life definitely got more expensive since the pandemic.

That said, even though my Taycan costed me more than I originally planned - no regrets, at least so far (2 months into ownership, so could still be the honeymoon period).
