When I take my foot off the brake, the Taycan goes, just like an ICE engine with an idle. I have to confess, after driving an electric before it - that did precisely nothing if you weren't pressing on the accelerator - as well as cars with clutches, this behavior kinda drives me nuts.

Proper Behavior:
Accelerator = go
Break = stop
Using neither = coast.

I don't suppose there is a super secret Taycan setting to restore sanity?

Press firmly on the brake pedal when stopped for auto-HOLD to activate.

I do know that. Just looking for something permanent.

?? parking button?

Are you keeping your foot pressed on the brake?

Press it once, a bit harder, and it will trigger auto hold.

The car coasts, like all ICE cars, regen is not turned on by default.

I think you mean "creep" where the car will move forward if P or Hold not engaged.

Great feature and makes it behave more ICE like.

Note that if on a slope and rolling backward occurs the Hold will automatically be engaged.

There is no feature to alter the behaviour.

Coasting only occurs when on the move and recuperation not active.

Porsche designed the Taycan to feel as much like ICE as an EV can so not to lose its driving experience. I suspect that's why it has things like this that are different to most other EVs.

That said, it's exactly the same in our Mini

My 2019 etron does not do this. Interesting that the mini does as well.

Ah well, was hoping, but not surprised.

Thankfully, and vey glad that Porsche engineered it this way to coast like ICE cars.

Car shave always behaved like this for over 50 years - ain’t broke, don’t fix it !

I love that for so many people the Taycan is giving them the experience they want.

I never really drove an automatic before my eTron, and am used to not having 'creep'. I do use the HOLD function. Just wish I had an option similiar to my standard or some other electrics. At the end of the day this is a nit though.

I'm not asking for one peddle driving! :)
