I found a problem when I was configuring a new car on the configurator yesterday:
On the 4S version, there is no Storage Package effect by default on the preview image. After selection, the preview chart will change effect.
On the TURBO/TURBO S version, the default on the preview chart is the effect of Storage Package.
I originally thought it was just a bug on the website, but I tried the configurator in the US/Hong Kong/Europe website. It was the same, including the 3D preview function. So is this the bug of configurator? Or to say that the default on newly produced TURBO models is the effect of Storage Package.
thx

Does anybody know of an aftermarket tray that could be double sided taped in place to make additional storage?

Did anyone try to retrofit this yet? If so is there a list of part numbers?

I’ve fitted it.
It’s silicone rubber and sticks to smooth surface very well. Unfortunately the well under the display has a finish that still allows the tray to move. My solution was double sides tape. The tray is fitted, doesn’t move and my iPhone/keys fit. Job done.

You fitted the OEM parts from Porsche?

No. a Chinese black tray mentioned earlier in this thread. It’s taken a couple of weeks to arrive.
Ah - was taking about retrofitting the OEM storage tray...

That's my plan when the car arrives. I'll inquiry with my dealer about the retrofit.

Does anyone knows whether the the storage tray under the center console can be retrofitted?

I like the cleaner look without it, especially dislike the tray in front of the rear middle seat...

However, I am worry that I may end up needing it given the lack of storage spaces for the front driver (access cards / 2 phones )

Here is an inexpensive solution. I have a 2021 Taycan with the storage package, but it should equally work with either build. This is a high speed charging tray (automatically set to the maximum charging speed of your phone up to 15W max) you can purchase on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7K5WMLN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

It fits about as perfectly as it would if it were custom built for the space. It also comes with a USB-C connection that will fit into one of the two available in your center console. The included flat USB wire will fit perfectly in the channel between the panels where the top and sides of your center console connect together. Be sure to carefully use an appropriately sized trim tool to push the flat wire into that seam, but if done properly it will almost disappear to the eye making the entire install look OEM. The location is slightly awkward to place and remove your phone from it, but no more than any other use in that area. It comes with double sided tape if you prefer to semi-permanently keep the tray in place. I tried it both ways and using the tape is preferable as it keeps it aligned when placing and removing your phone. The tray itself is a rubberized with a textured pattern that will keep your phone in place when driving and has edges on either side (which is why I would expect it to work both with and without the storage package).

See the photos after the install. I confirmed it fits easily with an iphone 13 mini and an iphone 15 pro. This particular model takes a few seconds to determine the charging capacity of your phone before it starts charging so there is a slight delay before you will see the power charging indicator confirm it is charging in Carplay.

I did not get the storage tray. From Amazon I bought a self stick sunglass holder for less than $20. It holds loose change and a hat to wear when the sun is coming through the mandatory panoramic roof ( early 2020 order ).

That's a really nice option for adding wireless charging in a discrete spot, thanks for sharing! I presume your iPhone doesn't overheat there? And also is it OK to place non-charging items (especially something metal) there? I've never had a charging pad before so have no experience....

I have just decided against

Thanks for the update...

I decided against ordering it because:
1) I went back to the showroom car to look at it again...I think the area is not very accessible while driving (especially for RHD), and I believe I will end up putting my stuff in one of the cupholders.
2) I think the tray on the rear floor is really stupid and is prone to be scratched or broken by the rear passenger..
I never used it.
