After 5000km I thought a review of my experiences were in order. I’ve broken my feedback down to what I hope are categories that are important to current and potential owners.

Range:
Car details:
- Porsche Taycan Cross Truismo 4S
- Colour: Carmine Red
- Build: http://www.porsche-code.com/PPSUKHN8
- Addition of: Full XPEL PPF w/ XPEL Fusion ceramic coating.
- The car feels like a through Porsche to drive. Nimble and amazing road holding. What makes this car so impressive is it’s ability to cover miles with amazing pace yet around town and in traffic it’s the most comfortable car I have ever driven,
- Exterior looks will draw attention and they should. It is stunning and I’m very happy with Carmine Red. It’s not a colour I would have considered only only for the initial test car being in this colour.
- It is a very wide car and I’m glad i optioned the Park assist with surround view. It’s also worth taking a wider radius when travelling around tight corners or corners with high kerbing.
- The rear seats are roomy and comfortable. I’ve had two people with reduced mobility in mine for 2-3 hr journeys without issue.
- Boot space is excellent and this car can easily carry 2 x 20kg check in bags and 2 x 10kg cabin bags with a little room left over.
- I’ve come from a 2017 Audi Q7 system. The graphics in the Taycan are more modern.
- I like the ability to move icons, around the screen and the split screen view, which is configurable is also a helpful touch.
- I have had two instances of the PCM going blank (black screen) but the two finger reset resolved the issue on both occasions
- I try to maximise charging from two locations:
- My 7.2kw Zappi installed at my home. I avail of a Nightsaver (approx .13c/KWh) rate. I limit the majority of my charging to night times through the onboard charging planners Profile and Timer features.
- At my place of work where I can typically avail of 8-10KW’s per hour free of charge.
- Longer trips require a little planning but the onboard charging planner handles this effortlessly in Ireland. It’s important though to filter out any charging points of 50KW or below if your looking to avoid long charging stops!
- It’s also important to program your trip into the planner and allow it direct you to the faster DC chargers to allow for battery preconditioning. It really does make a difference to the amount if time you are stopped taking on power.
- Where possible I prioritise Ionity charging facilities primarily as I find the service faster but also because of the great rate you get as a Porsche driver.
Range:
- The onboard ‘guessometer’ suggests I get 340km from a 100% charge. This has increased from 310km when i gtook delivery of the car in January.
- I rely more on the Trip Control report (see below) to monitor my consumption which is slowly improving.
- It has been cold in Ireland and most of my driving to now has been in 2-10 degree celsius temperatures. I expect this is impacting my current range and i am looking forward to seeing range increase with the temp. increases as we head towards the summer months.
- I've included each individual item i added to this car below. I've highlighting whether or not i would include in the spec once more as well as some additional notes for that line item.
