curious. why this sub-bar picture quality showing everything is not in-focus but at the same time claiming that a specific reading of 1MΩ is present and NOT showing a picture of that!?
The topic starter didn’t copy all messages to this forum. Simply open the link and read the original thread. It has all the pictures including what you asked for

While I am not disputing there is could be some kind of an issue, the insulation breakdown must not have been too great if the owner who's been driving the car didn't report getting shocked (or didn't get killed). Furthermore, a short from cell to battery chassis would definitely trip AC charging EVSE's. I am a lot more familiar with EVSE protections, but I am nearly as certain that it would also trip any DC charger fault protections as well. Given the car had been reported as charging, I am going to guess the compromise of the battery to chassis isolation was not large enough to trigger either the Taycan's onboard safety, or DC charging protection, or EVSE (AC charging) - the latter two are pretty much out of Porsche's control (most EVSE and DC chargers are not made by Porsche) .

For those who want some more details, but don't want to wade through ISO specs, this article talks about existing protection mechanisms - the article also suggests a cheaper alternative, but you can ignore this if you just want to know how the current systems work (that would be a topic for a separate thread).

I read through it and the Rennlist OP says that all the cars he services are Grey import cars - "All these cars are bought brand new from Porsche in the UK. Almost all of of them from Porsche Centre East London." So there is an assumption that the cars arriving in Thailand are "new".
Yes this is my local dealer where I bought mine from.

This all sound like internet bollocks to me.

Given the service and test "recalls" there is evidently a problem with some battery seals. I seem to remember a whole series of cars from certain production dates needing to have their battery seals checked - mine may even have been one of them.
I can imagine cars imported to Thailand from England from thet series may/will have missed out on those checks and if the sealant or application of it is compromised this sort of problem may happen driving through puddles or floods.
Difficult to imagine rainwater getting into the battery through that lid seal whilst parked on a rainy day even if compromised.

Knowing the vin range this person has seen this happen on would be helpful to figure out how accurate this report is.

Thailand does get quite a lot of rain. I wonder if a bunch of these are just cars owners have driven through deep water not realizing the risks.

The combination of being connected worldwide through forums and getting to know the 0.5-1% of Taycans with sealing problems and this spectacular thread on top, adds to conspirative theories and blows up the conspirative assumptions to Porsche SE holding back all that information.
Fear always works, doesn't it?

of course those cases are interesting to read about, but I certainly won't form my opinion around it.

Would be nice if the poster had given the actual isolation measurement, instead of only saying it was below 1 Mohm

Anyone know what type of isolation monitoring device is used in the Taycan?

He is implying that this content is highly doubtful and lacks proof at many angles.
Thus creating an opinion by trusting information from probably faulty sources is very likely to go in the wrong direction.

Yeah but Porsche are actively addressing those campaigns and recalls with owners right?!

The stuff in the OP reads like these cars were parallel / grey imported from the UK to Thailand. By whom and how - either way is Porsche even able to track down where these cars are?

Is there a Porsche Thailand or is it this blokes garage?

I have doubts about his claims.
He does have fixed some batteries but not "tons".
I think it's not more than five.
Three of them I've seen pics from but he makes it looks like every single Taycan in Thailand has battery problems.
He is Cristian Tabuyo of CT14 Garage also member of the Porsche Taycan group .
I wonder why he's not a member here.
I've no doubt he's had to repair some number of batteries, but the recall Tooney linked makes me think what this person is seeing is likely that defect and not a pervasive problem. . I do think his tone makes it sound way worse than it likely is.

I would like to know the vins that he's repaired so I can research a little on my own.

If you were a member of the Facebook group you would've understand.
He did some repairs on '23 Taycans which did have the recall about failing sealant so no surprises there.
You are aware Thailand doesn't have Porsche support, right?
That's why people come to his garage and he behaves like he's King of Taycan batteries
In a way, he actually is, to be fair.
In Thailand that is.
