Thanks for all the great info posted above! Really cool tricks, looking forward to trying these out soon.

I apologize if 99% of Taycan owners already are aware of this feature, but I just discovered it by accident earlier this week.

I knew about the rear trunk/boot handless open feature (where you wave your foot around the underside of the trunk area) to pop open the power lift gate. On mine, it's fussy, but it works.

While gently washing my 4S this week, I was wiping near the front nose of the car with a soft cloth, on the top of the bumper area near the Porsche logo. *POP!* The front trunk opened! No fob, no menus. I was happily surprised about that unknown feature (to me).

A cousin of mine with a Cayenne said her vehicle had that feature, but I didn't know the Taycan did. Just my thoughts.
I love this feature tho from it only works when I am washing the car and have the hose pointed at the nose, so I end up floding it :CWL::CWL::CWL:

Does anyone else wish they would allow use of the lower display where they block off for a touch screen? I wish I could choose more information to always be displayed there. Silly why they have a "Touchpad".

YES! I think the operative question is whether anyone finds this touchscreen area particularly useful in its current state.

I would love to use some of this "software" area to have additional customizable keys. Ie: Direct to SiriusXM, Direct to Apple Music, etc.

Found this out without sifting through the manual or good to know app but instead of pressing down on the lower screen, you can just slide your fingers to adjust things like temp, fan speed and volume. One finger up and down on the HVAC controls and two fingers on the lower trackpad for volume. I also tried swiping left or right but didn't seem to do anything.

Also if you hold down the regen button on the steering wheel it turns on the auto regen option.

Actually, speaking of regen, I noticed that most of the time the first 5 or so minutes of my drive the car solely uses the physical brakes. Does regen need to warm up a bit before it activates?
Probably is to keep the brake discs from oxidizing.

Last week, while travelling across some twisty roads in South of France, I found that pushing the rotary knob when map is displayed in the central display, you can set the zoom to auto (default) or manual. I it is very useful to set a closer range so it displays the road in detail and then you are able to see how sharp is the next turn ahead.

I actually use that as a touchpad just about every time I'm scrolling through menus and such. I'd rather not get fingerprints on the main screen, and it's easier to scroll without accidentally selecting something.

Me too.
It's just perfect to keep the fingerprints off the screens.
Once you're used to it, it does the job but it isn't that good as the iDrive from BMW.
Still, I admire the spirit of Porsche to do things differently and, let's be honest, it first perfectly in a futuristic cockpit like of the Taycan.

Agreed! That handwriting recognition on the touchpad is laughable. What’s really ironic, is that when the car is moving, most of the menu options become greyed-out for “safety” reasons, but you are allowed to both drive and scrawl on the touchpad authentic frontier jibberish to enter things like a destination or a menu setting. Positively weird, and way more dangerous than the ability to select greyed-out menu items or access the keyboard.
