Porsche Connect expired yesterday.

The functions disappeared on the day of expiration, not at midnight but halfway through the day.

In the car, the navigation with charging stops works as before, and the same applies to Apple CarPlay connected to the Porsche account.

The only two missing features are remote climate control and charging profile management, but we can live without them.

We’ll try going without it for now. If there happens to be a promotion for an annual subscription, we’ll think about it; for the moment it’s fine as it is. After all, at home the car is just two meters from the kitchen: you just unlock it with the key fob (after activating the function on the PCM) and it starts preconditioning the cabin, exactly like I used to do via the app. As for checking whether it’s charging, I can see that both from the wallbox app and from the Tesla Powerwall app.
Won’t it lock back as long as non of the doors were actually opened and preconditioning will stop?

Opening it with the remote control, the car starts preconditioning for 5 minutes.

If you don’t get in within that time, it turns off and locks again.

Activating the other option above, it does it for 60 minutes, but it switches to off every time, while the 5-minute option remains active.

My contract expired in Sept and I have been fine until I recently renewed my Eon Next energy contract here on the UK. Their terms state that you must connect your vehicle to their App to enable the off-peak tarrif. I am working with Eon to explain that I cannot connect but I keep getting sent reminders to connect my vehicle to enable cheap charging.
Has anyone else had a similar issue where the lack of connectivity to the car affects your ability to access off-peak charging. I will update if I make progress with this issue.
I'm with Octopus. To qualify for their Intelligent Go tarrif (7p per kWh for 6 hours), you have to connect to a recognised car or charger. My Hypervolt V2 charger currently isn't recognised, but the Taycan is.

You have to subscribe to Connect to enable Octopus to communicate with the car. I resented the idea of shelling out £22 or so a month just to get a slightly cheaper tariff, but I gave in.

I'm hoping that later this month Hypervolt will upgrade the V2 so it is recognised by Octopus/Kraken, giving me the option to leave Connect if I want to.

Unbelievably, remote charging from the Porsche app still works on my 2020 Taycan a year after I cancelled my Connect Services subscription 🤷‍♂️

There’s something to be said for “old tec” after all.

But you have a 1.2 right? Didn't the facelift come with 8 or 10 years with Porsche Connect? I remember something about it..
10 years now just picked mine up.

Remote climate control still works without Porsche Connect. It's right there in the app.

That's weird... Are you fully updated? You can see in mine it says no active connect services yet I still have climate...

Welp, my "complimentary" Porsche Connect expired (after not even two years with it)... and I bit the bullet on the $26.49 (for now) monthly subscription. I guess I need that Spotify action - which was working most of the time. 🤷‍♂️ Ugh. Porsche doin' their damnedest to make me not buy another Porsche...

@Paul S - Yes, same issue, and there may be a solution. I am using Octopus Intelligent Go & an Andersen charger. When this all was set up, I made the case to Octopus that I wanted them to control the charger, and not the car, so I can avoid having to pay the £22/m Porsche tax. It took a few emails but they got that set up. This may work for you too, depending what charger you have and if Eon will come to the party. As per @rb33gl 's reply YMMV.

(Have to admit paying the £22/m regardless.. due to FOMO I guess)

I also decided to renew (right away, as I use the pre-condition functionality and don't have time to hobby my own solution, which at $26.49 a month I could easily do). However, Porsche seems to be incapable of re-activating my subscription for the last 3 days so far! Their incompetence in things like online services is truly sad - these things have been figured out for over 2 decades now, but I guess Porsche is suffering from the ".COM boom was not invented here so we're going to ignore it, instead we'll reinvent how to do the internet in Germany 30 years later".
