Should've given you a shout-out for pulling off the de-badged GTS?
Does a fully loaded 4S with the 93kw battery have all of the same components as a turbo, just coding and $30k?
The rear motor in the 4S has a shorter rotor, front motor and inverters are the same, only the Turbo S had the higher rated front motor inverter.

I suppose that's what this forum needed, more BMW fanboys and teenagers to make the case for up-badging. Too many like-minded people on this forum that can afford the high end badges.

Make the S of “Taycan 4s” red. You have the re-badge, it makes clear there is something special about your 4s and you won’t be slaughtered on this forum.
Those are both great ideas that I hadn't considered before.
Probably too late to rephrase the question, "de-badge or alter-the-badge." Meh, doesn't roll of the tongue very well.
I was trying to bring out the pitch forks and lanterns but unfortunately no one took the re-badge side.?‍♂

Woah woah woah.

I don’t recall ever claiming I can afford anything I do.

Besides, my Taycan is just a lowly 4S also.

I'm sure most of us have gotten the "oh, you must be rich" comments. My comeback has always been "you don't have to be rich to make bad financial decisions."
And no one here can claim this car was a good financial decision.
The funny thing is, very few people even know what the badges mean. Its more to stroke the ego than anything. So if you do chose to upbadge, you're only lying to yourself.

IMO debadging is the way to go. I just ordered a 992.2 C2S and made sure all the badging is removed. I want people to think it's a 2020 base Carrera.

I think from a purely technical point you can kind of convince yourself that the Taycan is mostly software locked. However, badging is weird in general since it's some basic human urge to show off. Don't show off, be proud of the fact that you're driving an awesome machine, no point jerking yourself off to passers by.

The front of a GTS/ Turbo/ S is different than the other Models.
I would wonder, why a Turbo has the front of a base model.

Matter of taste and depends on the motivation. De-badging generally (and subjectively) looks cleaner.

Leaving the badge on only for the sake of demonstrating others the "fast" trim level you have, de-badging to hide a "lower" trim level, as well as up-badging to pretend someone "faster" fall under the same kindergarten category for me. Again, no hard feelings :)

When ordering a new car (my latest was a Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0), I always go with the model name delete factory option, and when buying a used car (my latest was a Porsche Taycan GTS), having the model name removed is the first thing I do (the brand badge itself is of course never removed), this primarily for aesthetics (a cleaner look) and secondarily as a way to "de-escalate" any public jealousy (i.e. I'd rather have people around me believing that I drive a base version of any given model rather than the more up-scale model).

I like to be reminded of my Turbo S myself and enjoy the reminder on a regular basis. ?
I am only getting older and might forget the version one day.
I have also proven enough to myself to depend on other peoples approvement of me, over my car. ?
