I shall do the same next time I go to Anglesey to visit family - I need as much charge as possible when I arrive, not low like the app seems to think I’ll always want!
I have watched lots of videos of EVs being flung around the Anglesey circuit so I would have thought there must be a fast charger there?

Driving to Holyhead I am expecting to use Porsche Chester and 80% from there should easily get me to IONITY well south of Dublin.

As for plug and charge, it has worked perfectly and quickly at every IONITY I’ve visited. The Tesla app is pretty much as quick as plug and charge too, I’ve used it 3 times.

It’s been so seamless so far I fear a rude awakening is lurking around the corner.

If going to Ireland get an ESB card in advance (no PAYG option). Otherwise that corner may be closer than expected.

@mrdr01 forgive me for jumping onto this thread but I am sharing some of your concerns so finding this useful.

I read that you’ve ordered your car but not yet got it so this is about your prep. Correct?

I am in a similar situation and could receive my RWD ST as early as this weekend. It looks like you’ve pre-ordered your Porsche charging card. I thought this was something the dealer did for you when you take receipt of the car and they’ve configured the MyPorsche app.

can you share the process you went through and what you needed in place to do that?

Cheers, SD
Hi - yes that's correct! I actually collect it later today. I got an e-mail from Porsche to say the car had been added to my Porsche account and to 'confirm new vehicle'. From there I was able to order set up the card. My SA then said they will pair the cards before I collect. I was also able to order the vehicle tracker too. I've attached a photo of what the e-mail looks like, but your SA should be able to help you.

There are some 50kW chargers on Anglesey but not particularly close to where I stay.

I will fund the fitting of a gorilla socket at my daughter's house near Beumaris to get more than the 80% of the electricity being paid for to charge it into the actual battery.
The short journeys I tend to do when there were spectacularly inefficient compared to the plug-in Prius we usually take.

Tell the PCM.NAV to set minimum charge to be what you want. Use the App (or PCM) to plot your route remembering to set the correct battery charge at the start of your journey and then send to the car.
I need to try a few things.
In common with most sat nav systems the Porsche one chose a route I would prefer not to use when left to its own devices, so I forced it to choose the best route I have found (I have been doing the return journey 4+ times a year for over 20 years and have tried a lot of variations) by selecting promising looking chargers on the best route using Zap-map and navigating to them using the My Porsche app individually.
In general this worked well and the reason I ended up not having enough charge whilst there was more due to me not realising how crap charging locally would be. I knew there were only 50kW chargers on the island, and none close to where I was going to be stopping for any length of time but the speed and efficiency of charging on a 13A plug on the Taycan was a bit disappointing compared to the plug-in Prius I am used to.
Luckily the Taycan was sufficiently nicer than the Prius to drive up there...

Hi,

Here is the list of charger providers subscribed to the Porsche Charging card as provided to me by Porsche as at July 2022. I am sure it has changed since, not least there are some previously mentioned on this thread that are not on this list. I have to say some of the names on the list I do not recognise so assume they must be the holding company?

Shell
ESB Group
Ionity GmbH
Porsche Destination Charging
ThreeForce B.V.
Virta Ltd
Franklin EV Limited
Smartlab NL*EFL
Everon
The New Motion B.V
Has.to.be gmbh

Useful.
Osprey is missing and has been there since 2021. There will be others.

Basically use the app and if the EVSE suits your needs then try your Taycan card.

ESB is an interesting one as I used them a lot in Ireland but needed my ESB card to initiate a session.

Shell is peculiar too and no longer appears in the Porsche App - it did 12.- 18 months ago.

In April I‘ll visit Eastbourne. In Hastings is the near Osprey station. I read you can charge with a credit card. Correct and reliable?

I don't think so according to the app. RFID card needed.

Suggest to check Osprey network website.

OVO Electroverse RFID card might be an option as it includes Osprey amongst it's aggregated list.

** Update - Osprey do support contactless payment. Not sure therefore what the Charging Planner App guidance relates to in these screenshots.
