Still though, I find myself looking longingly at the Tesla website ... easy purchase process ...
Yea, Tesla purchase process is night and day as compared to any other car I've purchased. I remember buying Teslas and being frustrated with not knowing where my car is for the 6-8 weeks between order, production, and delivery. After 20 month Taycan purchase experience, which included a year of cold calling dealers to find an allocation, my Tesla purchases seem like a breeze.

Side note, over the years, even when I was a repeat customer, and the dealer knew I was not going to go for any of the upsells, they would tell me "I have to show it to you" and have me initial I am declining all the upsells. My guess is some corporate mandate perhaps? They might actually script all the tricks and hold all employees accountable, who knows. Btw, I forgot the best one from this year's eTron purchase - in order to get the 7,500 rebate, I leased the car (with $899 lease inception fee and less than a month of interest, it's still worth doing). One of the sales associates actually told me with a straight face that it's ILLEGAL in my state for me to payoff car leases before 6 months. :CWL: Found out from another dealer why - they lose some of the lease kickback if customer pays it off within 90 days of funding (so within ~100 days). Since I only heard this from one SA, I guess it might have been an off-script improvisation of his own, still....

Browsing Porsche Approved Used as still plan to get a CT4S to replace GTS as 6 foot 13 yr old doesn’t fit in the back of the saloon.
Came across this car. Porsche Guildford CT4S Demo. This would have sold for over list last year. £125k!
For a MY23 to this spec it’s £122k on the configurator.
It’s a month old with 4K miles and it’s lost £40k from list.
Scary!
Seems a bargain?

There is no more room in the rear of a CTS than the saloon its simply a wider hatchback opening of the boot. I have sat in both

To be specific its extra headroom I want - There is no extra legroom or width in CT or ST - Seats are all in the same positions and identical - There is however unquestionably about 3 inches extra headroom in the back of an ST or CT over the saloon.

I hope that life on the lam isn’t too stressful after the ILLEGAL lease payoff ?!

(The only car loan I’ve ever taken out was for an additional $500 discount that I’d heard was available for a slightly higher interest rate. The general manager confirmed this but requested that I wait three months before paying it off so as to preserve his cut. No mention of a felony conviction if I paid it off earlier though!)

I love the formulation of the least expensive practical Taycan trim ?! And that’s coupled with the general concept of a Porsche electric station wagon, which seems inherently contradictory. But as per the Savage Geese video review title, Experiments gone right. (Except perhaps for various recalls and other reliability issues. Plus the CCS1 DCFC network. ?)

My impression of the rear seat CT headroom was quantitatively adequate and qualitatively spectacular: the continuous glass roof makes you feel like you’re sitting in one of those professional photo shoots that always render a car far more airy and spacious than in reality.

My 6 foot 4, 295 pound, 17 year old boy never complains about the room back there. He only complains about getting in and out of the car.

You can transport all 4 Taycan mounted wheels with tires on the back of a CT (I've done that myself). I haven't seen or heard of anyone report being able to do that with a saloon, maybe if you put one wheel on the front passenger seat (not necessary in a CT). Any single wheel will go through the saloon trunk opening, so it seems it's not just the size of the opening. As far as room for rear passengers saloon vs. CT, the same except a little more headroom in a CT. More leg room in a Taycan than a Model S though.

Which makes it feel more spacious.

I'm 6'4" and could not ride in the back, comfortably, of a saloon. The CT shape is fine.

Having cancelled my new order in Jan, I've been keeping an eye on prices. Would still like a Taycan, but am not prepared to take a huge bath.

Good spec GTS cars are now starting less than £100k. I almost pulled the trigger on an excellent spec 4S CT at £81k....

But my thinking is that the next 12mths is likely to see another big chunk off. Facelift model will be nearly out, and interest rates etc here will really start to bite.

So unless something really on the money comes up in the meantime, I'm going to sit it out for a bit longer. A GTS at £70-80k will feel like a lot of car. Certainly more so than one at £135k would have been.

If you wait 7-10 years, you can probably pick up a well speced 2020 TTS for sub 30k. ;)

Quite.

But that wouldn't still have some manufacturer warranty, any battery warranty etc etc ;)

I’ve done 4 tires in the saloon with just rear seats down (just tires). Takes a little bit time to get them in there gently but doable. ???

PS And I did say unless a really good deal comes along.

21 new GTS STs for sale at the moment (and a few more demos with scant miles on....plus 5-6 more low milers outside the approved network)....has to be plenty of people cancelling orders...which I would think also indicates the number of people prepared to drop 130k on one right now is limited.

So who knows :)

Not dissing the cars. Really rate them. At this stage am not bothered about facelifts/better tech as the car as it stands does enough for my use....just not prepared to drop my pants and provide the Vaseline :)

This thread pushed me to have a look for a used Taycan and I decided on a CT turbo as one I might like.
Still didn’t find one used in the UK I would buy…
how comes?
I mean, what happened with your CT?

There’s more space for head in CT since the line of the roof is different.
I can sit in the back in CT, but hardly in sedan (with my 196cm).

I've done similar, call it gentlemen's agreement between me and the dealer. They cannot enforce it, but if I agree to it, I'm not going to screw them over by paying off early. That said, in situations like this it's worth asking what is the chargeback they get for me paying off early, if the interest is high, it might be worth to add that to the price of the car and pay off early instead (if 90 days worth of interest is more than the money they lose).
