Tried to follow some other threads regarding the question "do you use the power button or key to lock the car" and honestly its a bit confusing. Methinks it really doesn't matter. One thread led to the discussion of this feature in the PCM (first option listed) and I am still not clear what this actually does.

Currently, with the box unchecked, the car starts up as soon as I sit down in it, which suits me fine.

That's very funny. I am on my second Taycan and did not know this option exists. So ... I am annoyed whenever I pop out to my garage to grab my sunglasses from car for example, or some shopping. I open the car and everything seems to start up. I now think that I must have this option checked on both. So ... thanks for highlighting it and hopefully this gives you the answer.

If it is unchecked, you can pop in and out of the car without starting up all systems. If not, it will start up on unlock. Hope I'm correct and this helps!

On my 2021 (not sure if it matters), it seems that I have to actually sit down within some set time for the car to come alive.

Which is really the best way for me. I wouldn't like if it comes to life just for opening the door to get something or put something down prior to a trip, but when I sit down right after opening the door, that's really usually when I want it to.

I had those boxes checked and then unchecked them and I really cannot tell a difference. But that's probably just me, brain dead.
