Apologies for the delay in replying, been busy with work but managed to get a test drive in at the weekend. Car is lovely, drove the 4S and even in the wet it was just an amazing experience. Toyed with the idea of a turbo but only just about in my price range with a lower spec so decided against it.

With everyone’s advice considered I’ve just put a deposit down on a well spec’d GTS which arrives in the country next week. This is the configurator pic but the same colour and alloys, I’ll upload some pics of the interior when I can. Only had a couple of the extras missing that I wanted but these weren’t big by any means and I’ll perhaps look into the option of retrofitting. But even if it’s not possible I’m still more than happy with my decision.

Thanks again for the advice and assistance you’ve all given me, much appreciated

Congrats!

A J1.2 GTS? Do you have the full build code?

Thanks!

As far as I know the car wasn't advertised prior as it hasn't arrived yet but the lady at the dealer printed off the spec and I've recreated it, as below.

Will be one of the first J1.2 GTS I imagine, and a typical dealer spec car....

Only thing I'd have been inclined to want to try is active ride, but that's a good spec and will be an amazing car ;)

GTS is packaged for better cost for performance trade off. For most buyers, IMO 4, 4S is sufficient.
This is not the case in the UK.
It has unique model specific cosmetics but when I was choosing calculating power increase per cost increase for the various models the GTS had the least power increment per £ in the whole range.
The 4S was the sweet spot, particularly if you weren't particularly bothered about some of the options bundled into the more expensive models but did want options which were extra money in each model.

Haha, that's one way to look at it. There's also the suspension and interior that's unique to the GTS and the key options of PTV, Sport Chrono and PASM are standard

I did spec out a GTS but it was definitely not worth the extra money for the small power increment over a 4S, I had PTV, Sport Chrono (and PDDC and rear wheel steer) chosen anyway and PASM is, I believe, standard on all Taycans here.
I like the leather and Racetex interior but sadly only available in boring black ;) and the stiffer suspension would be a disadvantage on the roads around here (the standard ride/handling compromise the Porsche engineers have come up with in "normal" on the CT4S is superbly judged IME)

BTW the german high end brand stereo company is Burmester, not Burmeister like so many people say and the car version is very much budget kit compared to the domestic HiFi which is :oops::oops: even at a discount!

FWIW I prefer the look of the car with the sculpted ally roof to the glass roof personally and if you go for that the active suspension is almost paid for ;)
There aren't many about without the glass roof which always surprises me since you don't notice it at all from the front seats.
You don't need it for light really especially if you don't choose "privacy" glass which also then looks better to me.
I have the pano glass roof on my MY25 4S and I love that it makes the interior feel bigger and much more "open". During the day, of course.

Really?
The demo car I drove had it and from the driver's seat I could not tell it was there at all.

Same. My previous car had full glass roof and I never noticed any benefit.
Might be related to height and seating position. I am tall and my head is close to the roof.
Steel roof with the light interior works just fine and is more durable.

And the roof is actually ally and lighter (in weight ;))
