@DerekS good luck today. Saw you at Porsche of SC this morning dropping the car off. Was picking up mine after the heater recall but your were busy schooling the adviser so didn’t want to interrupt
I actually dropped off a detailed document I put together that explains the problem and the steps to reproduce it.

All in hopes of actually getting it fixed rather than ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yeah they offered it to me last time but I didn’t need a rental as I was traveling. I have them set EV as preference for loaner. The ICE Macan didn’t cut it for me
I didn't realize you could set a preference! I hated the ICE Macan, mostly because it has been so long since I've driven one that the sluggishness is intolerable.

Did they say how long it will take?

They quoted me Tuesday which I said I would be delighted if that ended up true.

I am highly skeptical, especially if the problem ends up being battery related.

I have found them pretty fast in general. Hopefully they exceed your expectations. There were plenty of Taycans today there. Usually is mostly GT3 and GT3RSs haha

Nothing official but they put a note in my profile and it is to the service adviser.

Well, I am not optimistic.

I won't know for sure until I talk to my advisor tomorrow, but I noticed them today charge the car to 100% today. I don't understand why they would do that, when I specifically explained that a low SoC is needed to reproduce the problem.

Maybe they did reproduce it, and fixed it, and did the deepest charge they could to see if it came back? (Best case scenario)

Yeah hopefully they didn't just connect it and charged it before looking at it. But I would hope that with the clear directions how to reproduce it, they didn't just ignored it.

Sigh. I hate that Porsche doesn’t have techs that understand EVs.

They ignored my instructions, which were very explicit, filled the car to 100% on a 150kW charger (which of course didn’t reproduce the fault.)

At this point I am pissed, have now failed to fix this issue at two separate service centers, and I’m fed up.

If anyone knows a service center that ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS EVS or at least FOLLOWS THE DIRECTIONS I TYPE UP please give me a recommendation.

Do they have a 350kW station at the dealer? If they don't, I don't think they will take the time to drive to a place that does and possibly even wait in line to charge.

I thought they did but apparently it’s a 150kW charger.

They ran it to 100% on that which of course failed to reproduce the problem.

They’ve been running the AC all day trying to drain it to do what I asked them to do in the first place.

I am so mad at Porsche right now. I’m sick of my time being wasted. I’m sick of driving their Macan road elephants. I just want this gd problem fixed.

At this point if the car burned to a crisp I’d be happy.

I just brought mine in for minor issues here and there before the warranty expires, and get one wheel repaired for curb rash. On the way there, my wife curbed another so make it two wheels. They gave us a Macan EV with 2800 miles so I am satisfied and they can keep my car as long as they need.

I am sure they won't make that mistake again. Unfortunately not many dealers serve EV, SC probably sells most in the bay area of them. Give them another chance.

At this point I'm going back to the Los Gatos place and will insist on driving the car to the charger with the tech onboard so I can ensure the correct repro case.
