New Porsche App is garbage

After 7 months of ownership the old connect had always worked more or less. Occasional hiccup here and there but mainly working.
Downloaded the new one. Said could not connect to the Taycan if old app was present. I deleted the old one and now……Ta-Daaa! I have NOTHING. NO FUNCTIONS. NO CONNECTION. COME ON PORSCHE. HIRE SOME NERD FROM THE VALLEY!!!

I thought so…that’s why I didn’t want to download it when my dealer told me about new app.

I'm picking up my Taycan next Friday (dec 17). In regard to the Porsche Connect app, I guess I don't have an option to download the 'old' one. What do you think I should do to make sure this is all working before I pick up the car? Download the new app and then make sure the dealer has it all working before I drive away? Or is this not possible?

I’d ask dealer to make it up& running.
actually, my dealer do everything for any customer as a part of delivery process.

I don't think it's released yet. Let your phone decide when to download the update. Some folk on the forum I think may be testing it - so beta at best.

Wow, a beta version of the Porsche Connect app? The production version is already shaky enough...

no. The connect App prompted me to download the new one. So no Beta unfortunately

Hmmm - I also somewhat warily changed to the new Connect app bef actually receiving my car - car is in PDI at dealership so will be interesting if we try to connect at there this week as to how it handles this! Hoping that any PDI check might also ensure absolutely latest of everything related re comms but who knows.

PS: @Reg I got an update reminder in iOS to DL and install the new version which I did.

I cannot of course access car with this vers. yet but if I run it in Demo mode and check it's version here is what it shows - not sure if this is accurate being a Demo example i.e. perhaps @Silveral can share his version screen to be sure.

Yes that is the new app but on initial release it was not clear if all the functionality in the prior Connect app was available in the MyPorsche app - sounds like you are saying its all there and functioning - if so that is good to hear!

I wouldn't know if anything is missing, since I've never seen the other app (other then demo mode).

But you can connect to the car, see your SOC etc, correct?

I'm on Android and no new app in UK / Europe.

No new app either on my iPad.

Yes, correct (soc, range & charging status), lock/unlock, preheat/cool. etc.

One thing to make sure is that before you go pickup your car, login to the porsche website and setup a pin, if you haven’t already. That is needed to login to the car.
