My SA let me know today that MY22 production has halted and my June allocation will be pushed back to a MY23....which unfortunately also means that I will get hit with the $2,700 price hike as well. Oh well, I just hope I'm able to get the car at some point with all the crazy geopolitical events going on in the world. A small price to pay in the grand scheme of things...
A June allocation would likely have been a July build (best case scenario). This was likely headed to MY23 to begin with. Were you advised differently ? Very curious.

I was actually. Maybe my SA was being a little overzealous, but he told me that it would be a "late" MY22 model. It didn't matter too much to me until I read some rumblings of a substantial price increase for MY23. Fortunately it's "just" 3k which isn't a big deal, but the initial pitch was a MY22.

My GTS was halted for several weeks when the war started. It was supposed to be produced in March but moved to April. It just got on the vessel and is now enroute to the west coast.

July build is MY22 (my MY21 started production in July 2021 and finished production in October). There’s an annual August vacation/factory shutdown across Germany and they will flip to next MY shortly after they reopen. This has been the case for most (all?) german-built BMW and Porsche models as long as I’ve bought or attempted to buy cars from them, which is since 2012ish. I missed euro delivery opportunities twice based on these timelines.

I would not be please to get a current model year at the very end of that year. I would like to be driving during my depreciation. Thanks for sharing….will have to keep my eyes peeled for this since my order could potentially slip into this type of scenario.

Lol!

I was hiring a (Christ this is embarrassing) Peugeot e208 back in March.

On driving to Porsche Leicester, I sheepishly parked in the nearby supermarket car park before awkwardly glancing in all directions to make sure no one at the dealer had seen me.

Lord knows they'd think I was a dreamer trying to skank a quick drive and refuse to even look at me ?
Admittedly, I find this annoying how dealers “check you out” based on the vehicle you drive in on before you walk through the door. Most dealers are guilty of it and if they don’t feel you are worthy, they don’t give you the time of day. There are clearly the trappings of privilege that many people look for besides the car, such as the Rolex, expensive clothing, etc. I abhor this subliminal classism which feel to me like microaggressions.

I’m probably overly sensitive to it as I used to look fairly young (once) and recall walking in to check out a condo/flat that I was interested in purchasing. The head sales person told me that I likely “couldn’t afford it”. I later requested another sales associate before purchasing the property.

Agree but ultimately that's sales and it's only normal human behaviour.

You could miss closing a deal where instead you've been wasting time with a joker.

Difficult to perceive who may or may not be a legit customer so all the person can do is judge on appearance, demeanor and asking about background.

I'm not saying I agree with it and lord knows what the dealer thought of me flaunting no designer brands nor wrist watch.

He'll get his commission though...

We really like our Peugeot e-208 – its a perfect city/chore/shopping car. It has been flawless – mechanically and tech/infotainment-wise. Porsche has a lot it could learn from Peugeot!

Peugeot hasn't bitten off more than it can chew software wise.

I despised my e208 for nothing more than its terrible range. Not sure if I had a dud.

Interior a bit cramped.

Quite fun to drive, but in the same class of vehicle, the Renault Clio RS Line (ICE) is exceptional. Loved it on the mountain roads of Portugal.

If you have a choice, the new model year is clearly more valuable but there are other factors like purchase price which is increasing each MY, market adjustments based on low supply and, in my case, ensuring we nabbed the $7500 federal tax credit before the end of 2021 (it was on the verge of being eliminated with the BBB bill but didn’t happen….yet).

That it - I'm cancelling my order!
Unless someone can guarantee me that Taycans aren't just bullet proof, but more importantly Nuclear Bomb proof.
