Is it possible to control transmission mode apart from suspension characteristics?

Hi all,

I very much like the individual driving mode and have been trying different settings.

For driving around DC, I like normal suspension settings with regular ride height (roads can be rough in spots and normal suspension actually handles pretty well and certainly well enough around town) and sport sound on (to reduce pedestrians walking out in front of you in the middle of the block). I don’t like how the transmission behaves, because the car feels super sluggish unless I really get into the throttle enough to force a downshift, which is not smooth. In sport plus, you start out in first gear, which is great, but I don’t want the stiffer suspension settings and low ride height.

I imagine it is a lost cause, but any secret to keeping car in first apart from choosing Sport Plus?

If you have sports chrono option – use "individual" mode to set the blend of characteristics you want.

I do, and I have tried, but I cannot seem to set transmission separately from suspension, which is the reason for my question. Thanks.

With individual you should be able to set it to have it a Sports or Sports Plus mode and Normal suspension. So while you'll have to turn the mode knob to individual each time you start the car – at least you won't have to individually change the suspension when you switch to Sports Plus mode.

I can’t seem to make that work. When I set normal or Sport plus in individual mode, suspension and transmission both go together (they don’t seem to have separate settings).

Is that in individual, or is that a one time alteration to sport? Also, doesn’t sport start in 2nd as well?

Sport has the same transmission/throttle behaviour as Sport Plus without the full chassis implications. You set drive mode to sport first, then change the chassis back to normal. Drive mode will remain in sport. Sport Plus is a special case in general, I think it requires the chassis to be in Sport Plus too.

I think this could explain why I did not think it was possible, as I was only trying with sport plus since I thought sport started in 2nd as well. I’ll try this.

Not at all.
Under Individual you can select whatever you want.
My Individual mode:
Sport Plus as driving mode, chassis in normal, ride height low and sound on.

If you can set sport plus and sport to normal chassis, and both start in first gear, what is the difference under that setting between sport and sport plus?

Throttle response, steering force, four wheel steering sharpness (if configured), PDCC (if configured), battery/heat management, torque distribution front/rear, torque vectoring setup.

I don’t have sport chrono, so I don’t have individual mode (or sport plus).

Sport mode starts in and holds first.
