Since you are in the US, wouldn't your normal automotive insurance cover this? It has on my other cars in the past. Or is it that they don't cover the callibration or some other aspect of the repair?
They do cover it but they don’t guarantee OEM glass. In this case, only OEM is available. If I had bought it from the dealer there was no money out of pocket. I am out $1000 deductible, and another $200 ish to re-tint it. I have lowered the deductible to $200 now so next it doesn’t hurt as much.

I just got mine fixed close to $4K, fortunately my deductible was $50.
Did you go through the dealer directly? My insurance agent called the dealer and found out who they used. We then called that shop directly and dealt with them. They met us at the and fixed it there. I also had scheduled it for a campaign repair so I got a loaner so it worked out. I’d bet the dealer had a cut in your $4k price.

Strange I had the car go into park at a stop light once too. Have had the car less than 2 months.

My car is sitting at the dealership last 7 days waiting for update. Communication has been awful.
I find out today that update is available tomorrow.
Fortunately I have a loaner.
My car also went into park today at a stop light. Nov 2021 car.

Mine went from D into neutral last night for the first time. Was stopped on a hill, it happened as I tried to accelerate away. May ‘22 CT4.

According to my dealership here in San Diego, they have the update and are doing the first one on Monday. I have an appt for Tuesday. They are predicting the update will take ALLL DAY.

Meanwhile, my car has decided that while I like my playlists in English, I want my weather in German (I don't speak German). The schizophrenic behavior is amusing so long as it doesn't present a safety issue.

LOL. It says "This service is not available at the moment. Please try again later." and then the button says "Try Again"

Ironic that you are listening to "Modern Love"

My dealer used their own usual installer, I am sure they did this with a cut for themselves! My insurance worked directly with my dealer. I hope I don’t get dinged for this claim! I hope your instal went well.

Just picked up my car, and can’t even tell the windshield was even replaced. This shop is exclusively used by my dealer, and did a fantastic job.

Great let us know how it goes. I'm using Carlsbad so am hoping to get the update in early August.

I should really use Carlsbad, I’ve known the general manager for over 12yrs he’s an amazing guy, I’ve done lots of business with him he used to be in Miramar. It’s just Miramar is only 4 miles away from me so very convenient!

I had a string of bad experiences with Miramar when I had my 911. The final straw was when I placed the order for the Taycan and asked for a discount. The SA offered me 2% off MSRP but as the deal progressed it became clear part of that 2% was my earned tax credit. It was as close to a scam as you can get and I canceled my order and started over with another dealership (that gave me full 2%).

YMMV but this only happens when culture of honesty is not valued. Carlsbad is farther for me, too, but that's unimportant, especially now that I am not paying for gas.

Agreed on all account, I’ve got less of an excuse given my relationship with Glen.

I just got mine done, will pick up on Monday.

Dropped off on Weds for a few things and a tire replacement, also told that ANA6 update is being released on the 22nd, and she called and told me it's updated. However, I forgot to ask her about color icons, to see if this is the update we've all been waiting for.

I suspect it's not that big PCM update.

Going back tot he ANA6 recall notice, it actually now says that the update is to fix freezing screens, which I also have.

So I'm not as excited about this update as before.

She also said that they have updated software to fix the switch to P situation. Which was only known to them because I gave them the tech bulletin I found on this forum (big help, you guys).

At least my blank screen issues will be gone. :)

-ThinkMac-

I literally just got back from Porsche Marin where I spoke with a tech there regarding the sudden disappearance of wireless CarPlay and the GPS-based suspension. She was baffled by both issues and then she told me that tomorrow, the 22nd, they're updating a couple of Taycans already there to the new PCM software who are experiencing similar issues. I couldn't get an appointment for tomorrow the 22nd but did secure one for Aug 4. Hopefully, all our issues will suddenly vanish with this update. Then again...
