Damn, you UK guys seem to be way ahead of us in the US. I'm sked for the re-do as well as the recall on seats at the end of the month. Since my 2020 4S has the Performance Battery Plus (93.4 kWh) I'm hoping I'll get the plug and charge as well.
UK Guy? I live in Atlanta :) I have a US 2020 Taycan and got the seat recall, the airbag/hazard light recall and the WMJ8 comprehensive SW update done last week. I can tell you that while the upgrade is pretty terrific, it does NOT enable Plug and Charge for vehicles that don't already have it. I wish it did.

It does not. As mentioned in the press release MY20 need a paid upgrade to the 22kW charger to get Plug & Charge.
Since some of us have the upgrades battery I wondered if that qualified for the P&C upgrade for the 2020.

Hopefully you have a free charger on Peachtree Lane/Drive/Road/Street! ?

The bigger battery has no effect on P&C. The OBC needs to support it.

Brought our 2021 RWD in for the big update. Finally got into the service bay on the 4th day they had the car. Update has now failed twice so they will re-try next week. Service guy said one Taycan took 5 tries before the update was successful and no Taycans there have been bricked yet so there is that.

Nice 2022 Cayenne loaner but it's not the same...

Two findings from today:
1. I had to scan QR code & register Apple Music one more time (while it worked via CarPlay)
2. I couldn’t set Music on 1/3 screens…it;s just “loading” more than 20 minutes. (but CarPlay worked).

I can’t connect
my phone after the update - trying to get into device manger - just results in a spinning wheel of death and loading device manager - I also can’t reboot PCM with the old method - is there a new way to do this?

Well at least two bugs are still outstanding:
  • Use Apple Music/SiriusXM/whatever, park the car, come back. Your original music source resumes (yay!) but then dies as soon as Carplay reattaches (boo!).
  • Changing drive modes shuts off regen. This one kind of surprised me since they called that out explicitly as one of the fixes.
I'm still absolutely thrilled with the update.
Derek,

I always enjoy your informative and thoughtful comments. I received 3 recall notices for my MY 21 4S...

1: Rear seat tether
2: Something about the wires under the seat
3: Something about lamps and protective devices

I have an appointment for service in early October (earliest available slot) and would like to make sure i get the PCM update at that time. What exactly should I ask the service manager to do?

Ask to have the software update - called uPdate - described in this Porsche press release done on your car.

I have noticed the fast charger rate is higher at 20% SOC than I've ever seen it. I pulled in at 20% and got 250kw and was at 70% SOC in 12 minutes. Never got that high a rate at that level and maintained it so long that it charged so quickly.

Try to turn off/on bluetooth and wi-fi (on your phone).
i remember that i had problem with connection until i didn’t upgrade to the latest version of iOS.
Before uPdate Apple Music (via carplay) often requires re-launch of app on the phone. Will see if that work better now…

Two findings from today:
Third findings: passenger’s screen flickering
Today, it started first time. I turned it off (changed to Range mode) and back…still flickers..
then I turned it off…but Taycan logo still flickers….
Then I parked the car for about 45 minutes… when i came back & start it, no more flickering.

And still couldn’t set Media (music) to 1/3 of the screen. Just loading all the time.

Bottom-line: i’d prefer old version.

Are we @tigerbalm the only with flickering on passenger’s screen after uPdate?

Oh, I didn't realise that happened to you too! The "good" news seems that its very sporadic – it only happened the once for me. Really hope it doesn't happen again.
