I've been called by a dealer few days ago... regarding my "hapiness" with the latest version of software. I told him about flickering on passenger's screen (happened only once) and black screen (twice). Today was 3rd time and I sent him a note so he can forward it to Stuttgart... and maybe someone will (someday) take a look, if there will be lots of similar reports.

My CT4 is in for ANA6, update is complete and I’ll be picking up tomorrow. The My Porsche app is showing the car still in Private Mode, and I recall some folks having issues coming out of Private Mode.

If the service technician (or the install process) has put the car in Private Mode, can the service technician bring the car back out of Private Mode or must a non-guest user authenticate via PIN or Porsche ID + password in order to do this?
I had the same issue but the service tech was able to sign me back in without needing password to restore from private mode.

If they have the key (which they did) and you have auto login enabled (no PIN) then of course they can switch Privacy Mode on / off at their leisure.

Hmm, perhaps worth a visit back to the dealership and have the uPdate checked out. Reads like a boot sequence lag or looking for a dependency which may be slow to respond / missing (I'm guessing of course).

My biggest gripe is the current shortfall in estimated range. Charged to 85% last night after the previous day's 100% (reported range 202 miles (!!), PB+ but actually worked out at 225 miles and prior to uPdate would have reported 225 - 235 miles). SOC last night was 49% and with an 85% charge the car reports 178 miles (normally would be 205 miles or so). The same charge to 85% immediately after uPdate last week gave 163 miles. The range 'learning' is progressing and so far 'added' 15 miles but nowhere near my normal range and certainly not looking too good for exceeding my normal 225 / 235 miles.
That sounds like you need a visit to the dealer? My car has done 5200 km since the update 25th August and all has worked fine. I initially hot a 10 to 12% increase in range ( and corresponding decrease in consumption). It is now colder here in Sweden so difficult to compare. But I certainly have not lost any range.
I also never experienced any change in brakes between recuperation and physical brakes. All has worked the same.

I have been very happy with the uPdate since I had a lot of issues with my PCM before. Only issue has been a slow reconnection to LTE when crossing country borders? Apart from that everything has improved with the PCM and connectivity to the MyPorsche app.

My car is 2020 model and one of the earliest production models.

Indeed. Could be MY specific (mine's MY21) given more updates are applied to older models.

generally when the car is in for service they will take the car offline. one reason is that they don't want you to have remote access that could have an effect on them while they are working on the car.
I was surprised they have not taken mine offline. This morning, I got a an alert that the air conditioner did not complete as it does daily, and then right after a charging error. Hope that is not going to cause an issue as they are supposed to be done this afternoon.

It probably was in privacy mode. The app would send the alert in any event as it couldn't connect to the car.

During uPdate it was in privacy mode and I’ve seen changed status several times.

Thanks Guys. So quick question, do I bring the loaner back with a full tank? It is not a rental car and I drive electric

Not sure if it depends on the dealership, but I've driven a loaner twice while the Taycan was in for service and never returned it with the same amount of fuel.

Just got the call that the update failed. Will not get it till next week. The reason I brought it Monday morning was to budget 5 days in case of the failure. If they had not waited until Thursday at 2pm to start working on the car, I would probably have it today.

Not a fan of their attitude and then they admit to only being able to do one car at a time. I am with @DerekS , call me and I will be there in 30 minutes while the tech eats lunch or finishes up the car before mine.

Yeah that loaner is going back empty.

And to add fuel to the fire, absolutely clueless about the WME3 Power Steering Column. Sorry it is not an open campaign on your car. You have to call 1800Porsche. I know that. I know about the $1,000 reimbursement, shouldn't you know?

Funny, I called PCNA and asked if there was a cut off date on the WME3 and they could not say, but I said, hey what about the welcome box with the pen or paperweight everyone is getting. She said they tell dealers to do it, but not all do.

Ok, done venting.

Got my car back from the ANA6 update on Thurs, so far so good. Aside from re-pairing my phone to enable wireless Android Auto, none of my settings appear to have lost and my car arrived to me normal, not in Privacy Mode

Here is my experience - made an appointment back in August and took my car in on Monday, September 12. Required a loaner thinking that they will at some point want the loaner back and would want to get my car completed and out of the shop. And then................watched MyPorsche app Mon-Wed with nothing happening. But.................
  • Thursday afternoon I get two error messages - one on air conditioning and one on charging.
  • Friday late afternoon I get a call that my car is done. Update went through first time with no problem.
What is interesting is that others have commented that they took their cars in early in the week and received the same error messages on Thursday afternoon............. Wondering if Porsche actually scheduled these updates at the same time so that they could watch the progress and try to determine why some work and some fail. It's just me saying that is what I would do...................?

Finally, and the best part - all is well. Everything is working as it did before the update. Phone paired right up, heads up display, lane assist, Homelink work and........ full throttle acceleration!!! I am breathing a little easier tonight.

this should pop up in the right tube when naviation is active, shouldn't it?
this is a new bug introduced in VR19.
1662630521557.png

that pop up is called "Manöverinfo" in the sub menu of the "Navigation" Part of the Tube and the checkbox is of course checked.
it's missing somehow and of course - like most of the Taycan annoyances - sporadically will return back, no idea when and why.

like this, it's missing:

never noticed that before WNJ8.
Anyone?
really no one else experiencing this bug? happens >50% of my navigation routings. sporadically as most errors in Taycan, come one day, goes next day, but will be back soon.
