The car will ultimately be placed in privacy mode during the upgrade to prevent remote access.

In some cases dealers will request you to put the car in transport mode prior to the work commencing.

the Porsche TI PDF for the update clearly demands the car to be in privacy mode all the time!
This wasn't done with my car also and I could see they did not start to update the first 2-3 days after bringing in.
It's exactly the same "game" years ago with BMW where you also can see the status and position of your car and can track whether they work on the car or not.

Gotta say I’m jealous of you all. Dropped 20 turbo off on Aug 16 and just today promised would start on mine tomorrow. Tysons Corner Porsche said they are not taking anymore service appointments until work through backlog…. Have 7 Taycans currently in queue to update, which is not going well.
I`m jealous as well. My appointment dropped from early september to late november.

Curious if you had a loaner when you dropped off your car. I deliberately scheduled my update with a loaner (in November) at Tysons because I know they short Taycan mechanics and I assume they want their loaner back quickly.

Do any of you who got the big update know if your car went offline from the My Porsche app while getting the update?

Called my dealer to see if they car would be ready tomorrow (they got it Monday morning). They said yes, it would be ready at the end of the day tomorrow. I have checked the app and nothing changed until about 2:30pm today and the app shows that the hood is open and driver door and some windows. So basically it got pulled in this afternoon. If the update takes 12 hours, assuming no glitch, I guess they could be ready (not taking into consideration the other 5 recalls).
generally when the car is in for service they will take the car offline. one reason is that they don't want you to have remote access that could have an effect on them while they are working on the car.

I was able to retrieve my car yesterday after the update was completed. they picked up the car monday, they probably did the work tuesday into wednesday. a few of the settings needed to be adjusted back to where I set them and in the 27 miles that I drove the car home I didn't notice any great changes in the car.

Today, I got blank screen (only one) the third time after uPdate.
Music (Apple Music via CarPlay) suddenly stopped, then screen became blank (only this one, other three were OK)... in about one minute, screen came back, everything was OK (navigation,etc...) and I just need to press "play" button again and the same song continued...

since I've never had a blank screen in a year, i'm quite sure that's a (new) bug in the latest version... or it's just a glitch?

Of course, entertainment software is not 1st world problem... but I hope that there are no bugs in other modules that controls driving...:whew:

Hmm, perhaps worth a visit back to the dealership and have the uPdate checked out. Reads like a boot sequence lag or looking for a dependency which may be slow to respond / missing (I'm guessing of course).

My biggest gripe is the current shortfall in estimated range. Charged to 85% last night after the previous day's 100% (reported range 202 miles (!!), PB+ but actually worked out at 225 miles and prior to uPdate would have reported 225 - 235 miles). SOC last night was 49% and with an 85% charge the car reports 178 miles (normally would be 205 miles or so). The same charge to 85% immediately after uPdate last week gave 163 miles. The range 'learning' is progressing and so far 'added' 15 miles but nowhere near my normal range and certainly not looking too good for exceeding my normal 225 / 235 miles.

That is annoying - had wondered if that learning curve 'reboot' was universal with this update (assume yours is not just a summer-autumn weather transition effect? - unlikely as too coincidental re update timing). Not exactly enthused about the idea of having to re-plod through that journey (my car goes in Monday)!

It was 17C in the underground parking slot where the car was charged and similar in my garage so I'm ruling out seasonal change - too soon but it's coming!

Porsche didn't mention anything about re-learning unless I missed it - if this isn't the explanation then it feels like the '+' of my PB has gone offline!

Don't have my car yet (late 2022 build awaiting boat), but can someone test out the spotify integration and see how good it is? Also if Android auto wireless works reliably? Those are the two biggest things I'm looking forward to
I did a 24 hour test drive whilst I wait for mine and used AA wirelessly and it worked as well as I would expect. The only downside, common on most cars I think, is that the phone satNav does not display on the HUD. It's a shame as I imagine Google Maps will be better than the native software.

The only thing I noticed was whilst charging wirelessly and using AA the charge on my phone never increased, never decreased either but it seemed to charge just enough to tick things over.

Porsche should take a leaf out of Ferarri's book (Purosangue SUV) and ditch their own Sat Nav and go native Apple & Android on the sound logic that a) it's superior, and b) always up to date for free.

Try using Waze (also owned by Google). It worked well for me.

I haven't found any difference about estimated range.
It's still between 400-420km (@100% SoC).

Speaking about blank screen.
I made about 1500km after uPdate and I don't believe that they'll find anything, so I don't want to drive Macan for a couple of days again...

Yep, I'll keep an eye on it as it is a bit odd.
