Why can't my car initiate Spotify?

Yes except that the PCM is unable to generate the QR code and ask me to try again later. I tried a zillion time for the last 2 weeks and still get the same error.

So far tried:
- to link spotify on the porsche app (working on the app but still get the QR code error on the PCM)
- exit the car for hours (for weeks now still no improvement
- checking if something is missing but all updates where made
- 2 finger my PCM to reboot it

Speaking of fingering the PCM, i got a call for my Porsche dealer asking if everything is fine. I answer that despite minors annoyances that were resolved by 2 fingering the PCM everything is fine. And he told me: "oh no don't reboot the PCM, even in service center we need to get to approval of Porsche to reboot the PCM..."

No we know why it takes them several days to solve the spinning ring of death....

Also sadly my experience. Am I to simply "keep trying?"

Try unlinking and remove all trace from My Porsche. Check also that the PCM has no trace of a Spotify link. Start over.

OK I tried to log out of Spotify and rebooted PCM (things I could do without access to my laptop). Tried again. Same error code.

So, my next move is to try your suggestion. I've unlinked Spotify from MyPorsche. What do you mean "check PCM has no trace of Spotify link." I have the Spotify icon on ApplePlay and certainly don't want to delete that.

I tried linking it in My Porsche but it didn’t help. I unlinked it in My Porsche. Logged out of My Porsche in the car. Went in and out of Privacy Mode. PCM reset. It’s still not working.

Same here - Was wondering if there was some sort of geo related issue (Australia) but looks like the issue is WW. The car did have to go back twice to the dealer for the uPdate (Android Auto was missing after first visit), but car Spotify stubbornly throws the 3011 fault code: Linked in app. Valid Spotify premium family account, car refuses to play...
At least with Android Auto now I can use Spotify from my phone.

I was in the dealership today tending to a different issue and raised this with the service advisor. The reaction I got from him was "what you expect us to understand how to fix that?! We are not Tesla here, we make sports cars."

Hi guys, same problem here. Account linked properly from App but when opening from PCM no Qr code is generated..

Anyone knows how to solve? It’s annoying because I don’t like Apple Car Play and I would like to use dedicate app...

Not sure if it matters, but I set up my Spotify from the My Porsche app instead of the Web Portal or from the car. Worked since Day 1 of the uPdate.

Hoping you cracked the code for me, I went to My Porsche app which showed a message suggesting I delete the Porsche Connection app before proceeding, which I did. It already showed a Spotify connection so I deleted that too, and started over. I relinked through the MyPorsche app and went to the car, hoping for a different result. Sadly, I get the same error as before.

Spotify became active for me after 12 hours since PCM update.

I have testet both the integrated Spotify and Spotify through Android Auto on my Burmeister.
Spotify through AA sounds like crap, its seriously useless. But the integrated Spotify do sound really good so far. I need to test it a bit more, and compare it with my FLAC files. But definitely not bad at all
