My first post!! I've been an avid follower of the fantastic forum information from members. My story is probably not unlike many others with several (aka many!) delays, but I've kept reminding myself that (in no particular order): A) This is my first Porsche and everyone knows there's a waiting list, B) There's a war going on in Europe and who knows where that will lead, C) Wow - aren't we stupendously fortunate to be able to buy one of these amazing vehicles given the national and international situation.
So, I originally ordered my Taycan CT 4S in late September 2021 in Guildford (Alice was fab!) , paying the deposit in October - with an April/May 2022 delivery!
Really not much information for month upon month unless I emailed an enquiry, but I was persuaded to change to a CT 4 to get faster delivery.
I locked my order in July and again, after not much information, suddenly it was ready.
And I collected it yesterday....

I know that the specification is totally personal, but as a result of this forum, I spec'd a LOT of extras which are amazing. I'm not really bothered about the 4 /4S debate because I'm not going to lose my licence for getting to 40mph in a 30 zone 0.7s faster - I'm still going to get a ticket! But even for my somewhat grandad (I'm not) driving style, the punch from putting your foot down is sensational.
What a car! Now I just have to come to terms with my imposter syndrome!
Happy to share my spec if anyone is interested.
For those still waiting, I share your pain, but it will be worth it.

Well, today I finally received a call from my dealer to let me know that the allocation had come through and if I wanted it, my Taycan ST GTS will be available for January build, so we need to finalise the spec asap.

Only issue is that there is no Bose or Burmeister upgrade available - whilst I could pass on this allocation, there’s no certainly as to when the next allocation will come through.

I’ve read a lot on Bose v Burmeister and had actually been contemplating paying for the latter if Bose was not available on my car.

After waiting all this time, I’m reluctant to turn down the car, as it don’t think this is a deal-breaker for me. But should it be?

No @Sidicks , get that order in man!
I wonder if you could ask Porsche to confirm if its possible to get an aftermarket audio upgrade without invalidating the warranty, just in case you feel the need? They should be able to agree to that (although logic doesnt come into it!)...

If you don’t think it’s a deal breaker then go for it. It’s not really for anyone else to tell you otherwise in my opinion.

There might be comments about resale etc but, if collecting your GTS in early 2023 is going to put a massive grin on your face regardless of whether there’s Bose or Burmester in there, get it done! Better than waiting until 24/25 when there might be more options available.

oh, and congrats on the allocation. ?

The audio in a car is always poor because of the laws of physics so it is just a varying grade of not very good anyway.
If you want a GTS go for it IMO.

Just got my GTS ST allocation an hour ago - Jan'23 build and Feb'23 delivery - yeeha!??
Excellent news, I read somewhere that there wouldn't be any GTS ST deliveries until end of 2023, pleased for you and glad it's not true.

If it’s not a deal breaker for you then I guess your question is answered. For me yes it would be especially if I was in a position where I could wait it out. The base audio is a big let down and imho should be avoided at all costs, add to that anyone buying a GTS is going to expect that Bose is there.

In the end, it’s of course your decision…maybe you don’t listen to music much and then would not miss it. What I can say is because an EV is pretty much silent you do tend to benefit more from a higher quality Audio system than you would in an ICE vehicle.
