Another 4S with defective heater here. Got scheduled for maintenance soon.

Just wondering, car is past warrenty. Given the absurd amount of cases, does Porsche repair it free or charge anyway?

Update: i left my 4s 21 this morning for the heater issue.
It wasn’t a complete failure, heating was working time to time. The test/diagnosis reported multiple errors so I took a courtesy car ..

I hope they fix it soon

For those who have had this issued fixed: does the service report indicate whether the replacement part is an upgraded one, or is it an exact replacement?

Fwiw, the service advisor at a dealership in the Rockies says they've only had to replace 3, of a presumably much larger number of cars they see in and out. That is, it doesn't seem to be an issue in consistently cold climates. @featherless does your list of GH issues capture the location of the 'incident'?

Did you ask that SA how many Taycans they sold locally? Knowing it was only 3 failures doesn't tell us how common the issue it. There has been a real drought in Taycan allocations for most of the time since Taycan was announced, with allocations sold at a premium out of state (think California) if dealers could get their hands on one.

Update: apparently the problems was about conditioning control unit.
It has been ordered and replace should take next week...

Strange is not the heater like many other failures

My dealer did mention about needing to test for two different issues with the failure, to see which it was.

I haven't asked, but the phrasing made it sound like fraction. They are in the largest metro area in CO, and I'm sure they do see a lot of Taycans coming in for service, far more than they have sold.

This makes me wonder, as we really haven't heard that many reports from owners based in consistently-cold locales - or I might have missed them. My inquiry to them was in the context of PDI - I dread the thought of experiencing that failure on my 1k+ mi trek back home.

I tried to turn the heat on yesterday and it just blew out cold air. Tried lots of different heat functions but kept blowing out cold air. I took it to Porsche today and they said it’s a known problem and they think after the update the heat coil doesn’t work so they need to replace it. They have replaced the heat coil in lots of ray and which had the software update

I know there are a lot of posts on this subject but I still want to share my experience and how my dealer is going to take care of this.

Since yesterday evening my heater stopped working. Quick search on the forum showed there is no quick fix. Tried turning AC on en off, max cool max heat, reset pcm but didn’t work. Tried again this morning but no luck.

I had the update a couple of days ago. Primarily to fix a problem with the comfort closure of the doors. The update didn’t fix it however. Still have to go back for that probleem too.

We had some colder days last weeks and I know the heater worked then.

We are going skiing in 3 weeks. I hope they can fix it in time or give me a good replacement for the trip.
My heater has stopped working and was told that the problem is likely a heater failure but they can’t order the parts before a full examination- even though they have examined it in the workshop briefly. 10 days for formal examination , part to be ordered and they are not sure how long it will take. Once it comes several days in the workshop. No courtesy car is available. I am driving on the motorway and steaming is a big problem.

My dealer just told me the part takes about 2 months to arrive from Germany

That's about the same timeframe as a newly produced Taycan. Maybe some executive had a genius idea to just throw spare parts in the trunks/frunks of new cars to save money on shipping (they probably have a negotiated transport price per vehicle).

Did you at least get a Porsche loaner for the two months? Trying to ascertain how good service at Bellevue is.
