UK order status and delays?

Mine too! Although it does auto deploy the door handles as you walk up but all the other bits work. I can kick open the boot and wave my hand over the front boot. I can also touch the door handles to open them and then touch to lock again.

SA said its not on our actual list of options so must FOD option but we arent on the trial so he reckons its a software issue that it may disappear on a software update at some point and to enjoy it while it lasts...i quite like it actually

Mine arrived at the dealer from Grimsby yesterday afternoon. Car will be off to the detailer for paint correction, PPF and ceramic in the next few days. I'm collecting it on my return from work next month. Can't wait!

My journey:

21 June 2022: Spec locked in
02 December 2022: Entered production
09 December 2022: Production completed
16 December 2022: Arrived at Grimsby UK
09 January 2023: Arrived at OPC Belfast

The next few weeks are going to be rather long going in...

Just had an email from my Dealer to say that my car is still stuck at port ( they prioritised people who were willing to take delivery in December apparently ) . Despite mine being one of the first manufactured in July 2022 and kept in pen due to fire in Battery factory. Ordered Sept 2021 and wondering if it will need an MOT before I even get it.

Stuck at Emden or Sheerness? The variability on timings and delays for each production and delivery event is so wild that I don't quite believe it can be chance. Would truly love to get the inside scoop on why certain cars sit and wait for days/weeks/months between events (seems to be the same cars delayed at each phase) while others follow Planned Date precisely. Anyone on the retail or production side care to comment?

Who has had there's arrive at Emden in the last month (after Dec 12th) and since been shipped to the UK / delivered?

I'm completely fine with the notion of a very long waiting list. And even (whisper it) some queue manipulation for sound or unsound business reasons. But it drives me bonkers that there is no apparent order to the shipping schedules once the cars are out of production. I sincerely don't believe their logistics are that much of a cl*sterf**k, so what gives?

So, email received from Porsche Cars Great Britain - order has been processed and accepted - Stage One.

What are peoples timescales from here on in to delivery?

Mentioned in another thread that I cancelled my order last week.

Lack of any news on allocation, lengthy wait, Porsche mucking about with options and well spec'd, lightly used cars becoming increasingly available with prices dropping relatively quickly prompted the move.

Dealer called to confirm this morning, but also to note my order had just (Weds) been given a March allocation!

Still going ahead with the cancellation. Reasons all still apply - dealer noted that you can no longer have a Cherry Taycan, which remains my preferred colour.

My local dealer has been great. Porsche head office much less so (yes there are circumstances out of their control to a degree. But they've not handled them well IMO).

Good luck to those persevering and enjoy your cars when they arrive. I may end up in a Taycan... Will keep an eye on the used market, and other cars that come to market over the next couple of months. But the initial excitement and want fell away for me, allowing the head to take over
