Greetings all,

I have 21” wheels and in colder temps my tires frequently rub when I’m turning out of my garage/onto the road/etc. Is there anything that can be done about this other than getting smaller wheels?

Here’s your fix. It might be expensive to add this mod to your Taycan though…

This is normal and based on Porsche’s suspension geometry. Not Taycan specific.

Ahhh okay. It sounded kind of violent so I figured it was rubbing on the car itself. I’ll look into that Delorean thought and let you guys know how a DIY hovercraft goes lol

My last car (Maserati Ghibli) did it all the time. More so when cold and/or tire thread was low

I use Turtle wax on my treads once a week...... stops the skipping. The braking distances get a little long, but at least I don't have to listen to it.......

Drive a mini-van I suppose. It’s the price you pay for driving an awesome car.

Well as long as the tires don’t get damaged as a result of it…

Forget the Delorean, you need one of these.

Does everyone with R21 rims have the same issue? Is it because of low temperature? It feels like I’m killing the tires while turning at low speed…

I think it's pretty much universal unfortunately and most def worse in cold weather with more 'brittle' rubber.

Have to say though that possibly more amplified on the Taycan than on my prior cars (to the point I just had the dealership on last visit double-check on all my suspension bits to be sure nothing out of whack!! - nothing was :)).

Anything sub 50°F and the effect is very real and jarring. Every time it happens I freak out for a split second. Oh well, can’t beat physics.
