When I first got my Taycan there were lots of subscriptions included. Mostly they seemed to relate to PCM and app related functions. And obviously the 3 year Ionity subscription that is pretty useless to me because there aren’t any Ionity charge stations nearby.

My question is - what stops to function after 3 years of ownership? And how much do Porsche want to charge you (annually I presume) to keep it functioning? Has anyone had a Taycan for long enough to know?

You’ll have to pay for each service which has an end date and term.

I'm curious too. Obviously we'll be paying for EA charges past that point, but I have no idea what all the other PCM services will cost.

Hopefully I'll be in a new E-Boxster S by then.

Go to your My Porsche Website and then review the contract start and end dates for all Porsche Connect Services to determine which ones are in scope.

If there is a charge then the payment card associated with your Porsche Connect ID will be used to process the renewal. You will also get notifications through as these renewals approach.

Annual one to watch out for is the PVTS+ service if you currently subscribe to it.

The idea of Ionity charger usage is nothing to do with where you live, it is where you drive, there are none near me but I use them regularly, I have covered 3000 miles in the past 3 months.

As we will soon be approaching the ban on new combustion cars, I think I might change back to a nice performance V engine, with intoxicating noise and character. Yes an EV maybe quicker but that’s not the sole factor of a great car.

I picked the Taycan as it had a ‘different’ look, I know the Tesla S Plaid is quick but 0-60 is not my key ingredient for a car hence I went for a slower Taycan with the hope of a better feel and drive.

In answer to OP’s question, not looked into the situation after 3yrs as I intend to sell and move on to a new adventure……

There is no ban so time yet. Ferrari, Porsche et al will continue for quite some time yet.

I put the deposit down for an allocation for the E Cayman late last week…it’ll be interesting how they roll those out…

I was told the connected services will cost about CAD$25 per month.

…. I’m under the impression that this will be 2030 and hybrids 2035.

…and VED for UK EV’s from 2025 - https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...-emission-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-from-2025 ?
Another government "target" that is sure to be missed.

Nothing to stop you either importing a new vehicle which is no longer sold in UK.

It is apparently enough for manufacturers to balance their CO2 emissions with a blend of ICE, Hybrid and EV vehicles to enable low volume producers to continue to make and sell ICE vehicles.

Ferrari has Fiat and Alfa Romeo for that and will facilitate the continued production of V6 ICE vehicles at a minimum .

Some countries such as Norway will be more stringent than others.

Infrastructure in UK lsgs woefully behind hence why hybrids will still be an option.

I think Europe in general has a real challenge to implement the EU legislation on the basis of practicalities.

Not in UK, but EU parliament voted for ban from 2035. :headbang:
