Upgraded Smart meter went in today (a week ahead of schedule) Well done OVO.
Was able to immediately apply for the Charge Anytime upgrade. Downloaded the app as instructed. Followed the setup instructions. Few issues connecting with My Porsche Connect account but stuck with it and eventually connected. Car is currently on a scheduled charge.

Was initially told that following the meter swap, it can take up to 6 weeks for the account to update and the Charge Anytime Upgrade be available. Glad this wasn't the case. Hopefully by 6am tomorrow I'll be at 85%, mostly at 10p p/kWH
Good news. Be interested to hear what actual rate you get. I seem to be at 11.5p a unit ( my unit rate inc vat minus the discount applied). Does work well if no external factors impact it, and even at 11.5p I can get a full Battery range for under £9 so happy days!

I'll give it a few weeks or so and then do a few calculations to see what I'm averaging. In the first week I've only needed to add around 50kWh. Not a lot of data to work with

I’ve just been bitten by what I consider to be a bug in the Kuluza platform. It seems that once a charging session has reached the desired SoC, the Kaluza platform writes a new Enode timer to the car for 100% SoC a day or two in the future. However, if the car looses contact with the Porsche servers before and across the new completion time, the car dutifully charges to 100% at regular rate.

This happened to me yesterday. The car was charged to 90% as required on Wednesday at discount rate but lost the LTE data connection sometime on Sunday, so charged up to 99% mid afternoon at full rate.

Seems to me that once the specified SoC is reached, the Enode should be rewritten at the required SoC for a day or two in the future, not for 100% SoC.

I guess I’ll have to get in contact with support again.

It looks like this tariff is saving everyone money, just not quite as much money as it claims. I would probably be trying it out if I wasn’t having solar panels fitted tomorrow… then again, the scaffolders haven’t turned up. So maybe I am not having solar panels after all.

Yep, the weakness in Porsche LTE connectivity is a problem but I agree there is no need to the software to send a 100% soc profile to the car. I always change it back to my usual 85% when I spot it.

So - no one seemed to have the answer to my q - but surely you can defeat Enode profile wotsnot and just set your wall charger to charge by available solar with the Charge Anytime app set to CHARGE NOW? This would be good to work out as the 10p charging will be v useful for winter...

I switched to Ovo. They then said i couldn't have a smart meter and then mixed up my account with a family member and won't talk to me about it. Can't say i'm all that impressed with them!

Two finger reset reboots the PCM, Press with two fingers in the top right of the screen and it will enter engineering mode, quit and it will reboot.

LTE (Long-Term Evolution) is a fourth-generation (4G) wireless standard that provides increased network capacity and speed for cellphones and other cellular devices compared with third-generation (3G) technology. It delivers up to 100mbs so faster than 3G but not as fast as 4G

Thanks for that. Is this loss of connectivity due to the Charge Anytime app or is it just coincidence that users of the app on this forum are only as unlucky as non users?

You only really need one charge as the calculation stays the same. If you divide your total discount by the units it says you’ve used it will give the the pence it’s discounted each rate by. Take that off your unit rate and you’ve got the true cost per unit.

My discount works perfectly to take it to 10p exc vat. Problem is vat gets applied on whole unit cost as far as I’m aware so minus discount I’m paying 11.5p. I’m hoping I’m working it out wrong.

Pleased you’ve worked out the anomaly. I hadn’t experienced this but I charge to 100% so never been an issue. Hopefully should be something they can fix.

LTE seems the weak point. Just thinking Is LTE why octopus intelligent hasn’t rolled out in a taycan as they are aware it’s rubbish!

Just coincidence. LTE connectivity has been flaky on mine four the last few weeks, Lost it in Mid April for 24 hours then again at the end of Aril for 6 days. Talking to the techs at PRG they think mine is unlikely to be a failed OTA control unit or comms unit as car is MY23 and has latest units. They have had problems with early OTA units. They think it could be an issue caused by activity on the server side as Porsche have been doing lots of upgrades recently and a number of users have suffered loss of connectivity. Mine is working OK atm but I have a booking at PRG Reading later this month just in case it fails again

No one answered as no one know. If you set the app to ‘Chargenow’ this would be charging at peak rate so I guess counter productive. FAQ says not compatible as if solar feeding it can’t work out the rates, and I’d guess a could lead to a diminished credit. Give it a go and let us know what happens!

Yes, CS is poor and night/ day compared to Octopus. Forewarned is forearmed if considering OVO. On balance the switch is worth it in my opinion and for my circumstances ( eg kw useage)/ rate octopus were offering currently)
