Oh very interesting point @Crazymind about the wheels. I initially was thinking 20" for the same reason; SA told me they looked awful in person and that the ride quality made little difference. What do others think about this? I care a lot about ride quality, and don't want to be all precious about the car when potholes etc show up
I have the 21’s….I am very impressed by the ride quality and how quiet they are. If you want 21’s, there is no reason not to get them.

I’m also interested that no one has mentioned electric sport sound—I doubt I would use it so elected to leave it off. My current car has “enhanced sounds” in race mode and I think it’s pretty silly.

I use the sport sound in the city as there’s many folks walking around. Super quiet when it’s off.

I test drove a 4s on mission-e wheels. Felt as smooth or smoother as my merc on 17'' with avant-garde package (sport). The air suspension goes a long way. Totally "must have" for me when I configured my car.

I like ESS, so to each their own.

- The thermal glass is incredible in terms of keeping things cool but I am not sure there is a big benefit on noise. There are some possible downsides around reception to consider as well (especially if you are doing work calls in weak reception areas).
They said they care about noise, so they should definitely get it, or else they will likely just mull over the fact all the time that the cabin could be quieter, however slight the difference might be.

I have it, too, and noticed no significant reception issues in the Bay Area so far.

Full agreed on the RAS, though. That's a must have I think.

Definitely a personal thing.

I felt it was daft and pointless to buy a quiet car then en-noisyfy (™) it, I switched it off almost immediately on demo, didn't spec it and haven't missed it I would definitely never use it.

@trogger
As others have mentioned, a lot of choices are personal, so I won't speak to aesthetic options like colors, accents, etc. Personally I would suggest considering RAS, as it helps make the Taycan feel smaller (it is a large car). If you have to keep to a budget, you could swap the sport chrono clock to a compass (there are multiple places on the screen where time is displayed already), or get 20" wheels for now with RAS, upgrade to 21" later. Also, if you're getting 21" for performance driving, have you considered PDCC and PVT+ (perhaps the Performance Package would be worth while rather than getting them separately)?

Interesting question @Moonstone. I don't specifically need a CT, and would consider an ST. But my thinking is:
* I won't ever be tracking it, so the ST's performance features aren't very interesting to me
* If anything, I would rather have higher ride height and more comfort, rather than cornering performance (yes I like canyon carving, but also spend a lot of time driving young children to parks in cities...)
* I am not convinced by RaceTex, so would probably do leather, which takes away from the special interior setup of the ST
* Finally, the price. Not quite convinced I will personally get the value from the extra 10k or so

I do like the look of the ST better though!
ST only comes in GTS trim in the USA.
Are you suggesting that you can’t buy a Sport Tourismo in GTS trim anywhere else apart from the USA?

Or are you trying to say that you can’t buy a GTS CT in the USA? In which case both of us are aware which is why I suggested the switch from CT 4S to ST GTS.

I am saying that in the US, the ST body style is only offered in GTS trim (which coincidentally is also not offered as a CT either). So no 4S ST, nor GTS CT.

Not sure what your point is. We’re both aware of this and have said nothing to suggest otherwise.

Sedan/ CT / ST is a body style choice. 4S vs. GTS is a trim change. Some allocations in the USA can have switchable body style, but to change the trim you have to get in the back of line for a new allocation.

Your first sentence was "Why CT over ST?", suggesting only a body style change. Only then do you suggest switching trims too, which seemed separate. It's as if you said "Why blue instead of black? A black Turbo might be better for you!".

That wasn’t my first sentence actually. He hasn’t even placed an order yet so allocation is currently irrelevant. I don’t object to you getting involved in the discussion Im just confused by your contributions as they suggest that I’ve said something to the contrary. Anyway have a good day. ??

21" v 20" wheels I assume the wider tyres of the 21s offer better grip, probably noticeable if you do timed launches, but I've never felt the 20" lacking in real-world conditions. I can't get excited about ANY of the Taycan wheel options, so I went with the Turbo CT's standard 20" aeros, though if there's been an option for satin rather than gloss black, and maybe even losing the diamond cut facing, I'd have taken it. Personally I think that, on a large car, ultra low profiles with minimum spokes can look "over-accessorised" (that's probably heresy on a Porsche forum- I'll get me coat).

ESS I switch off as soon as I drive a Taycan that has it. My own makes plenty enough real noise without it. The default pedestrian warning sound (as required by law) is often inadequate in an urban environment, but there are other ways of avoiding hitting people and I don't think that ESS is any guarantee.
